About the team
The Information Organization at Stripe focuses on enabling the effective use of data for decision-making and automation as well as scaling efficient go-to-market motions through strategy, technology, and data. We are a broad and diverse team spanning Data Science, Growth, ML Infrastructure, and Applied AI/ML. Data Science is a central team that partners with all parts of Stripe and uses data to make sure that we understand our users, their users, the Stripe business, and make near-optimal decisions (both automated within the product and strategically). Growth is a cross-functional team that delivers the insights, algorithms, internal systems, tools, and user-facing experiences that help Stripe acquire, convert and grow millions of merchants globally. The ML Infrastructure group aims to provide state of the art infrastructure and support for building and operationalizing AI/ML models for all business verticals within Stripe. And finally, the Applied AI/ML team’s goal is to maximize the impact of AI/ML across Stripe’s user-facing products and internal operations.
Strategy and Operations works cross functionally within Information and across Stripe to drive and enable the growth of the business. We lead mission-critical, cross-functional efforts, deliver objective analysis and insights, and execute on strategic initiatives. Whatever it is, we work on what will move the needle most for Stripe. We care about results, not activity, and we have fun doing it. What you’ll do
Responsibilities
Partner across Information Org leaders (Data Science, Growth, ML Infrastructure, and Applied AI/ML) on critical, cross-cutting projects
Drive analysis and research that will help inform Stripe’s overall strategy and help us make the right long-term decisions
Work directly with senior leaders across the company and with cross-functional partners to accelerate progress, solve hard scaling initiatives, and incubate new programs
Design and implement complex business and operational systems and processes
Who you are
We're looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be considered for the role. If you meet these requirements, you are encouraged to apply. The preferred qualifications are a bonus, not a requirement.
Minimum requirements
4+ years of experience in consulting, strategy & operations, product strategy, product management, or similar roles with exposure to both business and technical skills
Experience working in highly cross-functional settings, and in a role that spans strategy, analysis, and operations in a fast-paced environment
Critical and first-principles thinking, with the ability to zoom out to the most important questions
Passion for digging deep into data to diagnose business issues and solve problems
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the the ability to speak to leaders across very different teams such as product, engineering, analytics, sales, and partnerships
An ability to execute with minimal guidance, and in contexts with a high degree of ambiguity
Preferred qualifications
Prior experience in payments, finance, fintech, or high-growth technology companies
Experience navigating large data sets and/or SQL
