VP/GM of Product - Commerce Hub
The HubSpot product team is passionate about helping small and medium-sized businesses grow better by building a CRM platform that helps them market, sell, and support their customers and teams. The product team, consisting of Product Management, Engineering, and UX, helps build impactful products for hundreds of thousands of users at more than 216,000 growing companies in over 120 countries. Our team has scaled rapidly over the past few years, and we’re looking for an empathetic, adaptable, and innovative Product Leader to continue building and shaping our Commerce Hub to a $1 billion+ product.
HubSpot’s core CRM/front-office business naturally extends to Payments & Commerce as our customers want and expect us to add Payments and Commerce capabilities to close the loop on transactions. They are also hungry for the CRM-driven customer insights that come from closing the loop from Sales into Payments. HubSpot’s competitive advantage is our beautifully crafted user experience, and you will shape the product business line and experience to complement and extend the suite.
In this role you’ll get to:
Strategic Leadership: Report directly to the EVP of Product and lead the entire Commerce & Payments portfolio (including Billings, Invoices, Quotes, Payments, etc.), overseeing PM, GTM, Risk/Compliance, M&A, and more.
Product Development: Continuously craft HubSpot’s multi-million dollar Commerce & Payments product business line, discovering product-market fit within HubSpot’s target market.
Team Leadership: Lead a talented PM/Product Ops organization of 80 members (with 7 direct reports), creating the right discipline pillars to run a high-scale volume payments ship.
Go-to-Market Strategy: Iterate on messaging and go-to-market motions to attract, engage, and delight Commerce customers.
Customer Focus: Dive into the minds of our customers, working backward from their challenges to enhance their experience.
Representation: Serve as the voice of your product both internally and externally, representing HubSpot at conferences, events, online platforms, and with potential business partners.
Partnership Development: Grow our vendor & partner relationships within the fintech market to increase the velocity of our go-to-market strategy.
Collaboration: Work with other product hub leaders on matters impacting the Product team, including resourcing and broader product vision development.
Objective Setting: Set strategic objectives that align product development with key business goals.
Talent Management: Coach, empower, hire, and retain top talent by fostering an inclusive culture that celebrates diversity.
We are looking for:
Proven Leader: Experience as a 0-1 product management leader at a VP/GM level, working alongside the team to drive success.
Domain Expertise: Deep knowledge of Billing/Payments Processing and/or FinTech, with a strong understanding of Risk Management.
Track Record of Success: Demonstrated success in launching finance products processing TPV (Total Payment Volume) from millions to billions of dollars, significantly contributing to annual revenue growth, achieving high YoY growth rates, and reducing fraud/risk.
Communication Skills: Strong ability to effectively communicate, influence, and align with business leaders and executives.
Strategic Visionary: Capability to set strategic direction and manifest it by establishing clear priorities and relevant goals.
User Empathy: An obsession for user empathy and enhancing user experience.
Cross-functional partner: Skilled in developing strong working relationships across the organization, from tech leads to executive team members.
Inclusive Leadership: Ability to foster team camaraderie and mission alignment within a double-digit team while navigating a matrixed organization.
Talent Attraction: Proven ability to excite and attract top talent, fostering a culture of challenge and mission alignment.
Culture Amplifier: Enhances and amplifies HubSpot’s culture within the team and across the organization. A fly-high, fly-low 0-1 product management leader at a VP/GM capacity who can work alongside their team, not through them
