As the VP of Engineering, Business Interfaces & Growth Engineering you will lead a high-performing team to build and deliver our suite of partner-facing products. Provide strategic oversight and manage talent, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning. Drive experimentation and data-driven product development, ensuring robust quality standards. Actively participate in product strategy and design reviews, leveraging domain expertise to enhance user experiences and align with business goals.
What you’ll do:
Lead a high-performing team to build and deliver our suite of partner-facing products
Inspire and Guide Teams: Provide leadership and vision to full-stack, product-oriented engineering organizations.
Strategic Oversight: Develop and execute strategic plans to drive engineering initiatives and align with company goals.
Manage and Develop Talent:
Hire and Grow Talent: Manage, hire, and develop engineering managers and individual contributors (ICs), fostering a culture of high performance and continuous learning.
Coach and Mentor: Provide coaching and mentorship to engineering managers and senior ICs to enhance their skills and advance their careers.
Drive Product Development:
Experimentation and Innovation: Lead experimentation and data-driven product development initiatives to continuously improve product performance and user experience.
Quality Assurance: Champion engineering quality efforts, including testing, monitoring, and deployment processes to ensure robust and reliable products.
Participate in Strategy and Design:
Product Strategy: Actively participate in product strategy and design reviews, offering technical insights to ensure feasibility and alignment with business objectives.
Domain Expertise Application: Leverage domain knowledge in Ads, Shopping, or other e-Commerce products to inform product development and strategic decisions.
Enhance Domain and Product Understanding:
Liaise with Product Teams: Serve as a liaison between the organic and ads product experiences on platforms like Pinterest, ensuring cohesive user experiences across the board.
Continuous Learning: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to inform strategic decisions and maintain a cutting-edge engineering organization.
By performing these responsibilities, you will play a pivotal role in driving the technological and product success of the company, ensuring high-quality, innovative solutions that align with our business goals and user needs.
What we’re looking for:
Leadership and Experience:
10+ Years of Leadership Experience: Leading full-stack, product-oriented engineering organizations.
Team Management: Proven experience in managing, hiring, and growing engineering managers and individual contributors (ICs).
Coaching and Development: Experience in coaching engineering managers and senior ICs to improve their skills and career growth.
Hybrid Team Management: Experience in managing hybrid teams is a plus.
Technical Expertise:
Full-Stack Engineering: Technical expertise in full-stack engineering, encompassing mobile, web, backend, and infrastructure.
Quality Engineering: Passion for engineering quality, including testing, monitoring, and deployment processes.
Product Development:
Experimentation and Data-Driven Development: Experience in experimentation and data-driven product development to continuously improve product performance.
Product Strategy Participation: Ability to actively participate in product strategy and design reviews to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with business goals.
Domain Knowledge:
Ads and E-Commerce: Domain knowledge and product understanding in Ads, Shopping, or other e-Commerce products.
Pinterest Familiarity: Familiarity with the Pinterest product to effectively liaise between the organic and ads Pinner experience.
