Job Description
The Vice President of Accreditation and Professional Regulation (APR) is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing and managing the accreditation processes of the organization. This position ensures compliance with accreditation standards, fosters continuous improvement, and promotes academic excellence across all programs. The Vice President develops and maintains relationships with key accrediting bodies to advance the interests of the organization. The Vice President serves as the primary spokesperson on accreditation matters, representing the organization to accrediting bodies, regulatory agencies, and the broader organizational community. Additionally, this role provides strategic leadership and supervision for the APR team, overseeing colleagues, managing resources, and ensuring efficient operations.
Lead the university’s accreditation efforts, ensuring compliance with standards set by accrediting bodies.
Develop and implement strategies to maintain and enhance accreditation status for all programs.
Oversee accreditation-related data collection, reporting, and quality assurance, ensuring efficient use of modern data management and AI-driven systems.
Monitor changes in accreditation standards and ensure timely adjustments to university policies and procedures.
Provide leadership, supervision, and direction to the APR team, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Proactively and clearly communicate all important accreditation matters to internal leadership.
Prepare and submit accreditation reports and documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Lead site visit preparations and coordinate with accrediting agencies.
Provide leadership and guidance on academic policies and program development.
Foster a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, integrating innovative technologies into academic and administrative processes.
Represent the university at conferences, panels, external meetings related to accreditation and higher education policy.
Support and lead all efforts to stimulate and advocate for growth of existing and new programs and degrees
Coordinate widely and effectively with internal leaders.
Qualifications
PhD, Doctoral degree in a relevant field (e.g., education, nursing, or a related discipline) required
10+ years Extensive experience in higher education administration or other related field, with a focus on accreditation processes required
12+ years Strong understanding of accreditation standards and regulatory requirements. Required
Superior written and oral skills.
Experience with modern date management and technologies in accreditation
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Proven ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Additional Information
In support of the pay transparency laws enacted across the country, the expected salary range for this position is between $164,108.58 and $296,747.32. Actual pay will be adjusted based on job-related factors permitted by law, such as experience and training; geographic location; licensure and certifications; market factors; departmental budgets; and responsibility.
