With a talented team of 600+ Roofsters, our collaborative, can-do culture is what fuels our growth. Early last year we closed on our Series E, raising $240 million, and have offices in California, Texas, and New York as well as many remote opportunities. Our growth includes recent acquisitions of Great Jones (full-service property management), Stessa (financial management software) to empower customers with a seamless way to acquire, manage, and track their investment properties on one platform, RentPrep (tenant screening and placement service for landlords), and Mynd (property management platform for both retail and institutional investors).
About the Team
The team is based in several time zones within the United States and collaborate daily with scheduled standup meetings. Humility and leading by example are attributes that are baked into the team's DNA. This team is highly visible through their constant collaboration with business partners across the Roofstock business lines.
About the Role
As the Strategic Finance Manager you will be a key driver in the company's financial growth and efficiency. Your role is crucial in developing, interpreting, and implementing financial concepts for financial planning and control. You will be instrumental in driving strategic business decisions through rigorous financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting. Your expertise in financial planning and analysis (FP&A) will be vital in helping to create a win-win situation for all parties involved, ensuring financial sustainability and growth.

You will lead financial forecasting and budgeting processes, advise on long-term business and financial planning, and provide strategic recommendations to the finance leadership team. Responsibilities
Manage financial forecasting and budgeting processes, including the preparation of internal management and board reporting.
Provide strategic recommendations to finance leadership and the executive management team based on rigorous financial analysis.
Assess company performance against both the annual budget and the company’s long-term strategy, making necessary adjustments and recommendations.
Conduct detailed variance analysis to drive a deeper understanding of the business and its financial performance.
Coordinate with other finance and business partner team members to review financial information and forecasts.
Manage, coach, and develop finance team members, promoting their professional growth and enhancing team performance.
Lead ad-hoc projects that drive organizational goals, bringing together cross-functional teams for discussion.
Provide leadership to finance department team members, fostering a culture of independence and cross-organizational collaboration.
Prepare succinct presentations for decision-makers, translating complex data into actionable insights.
Basic Qualifications
A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
5+ years of relevant work experience in business finance, consulting, or other relevant experience.
Proven experience as finance leader with a track record of leading a team through successful outcomes.
High proficiency in financial modeling and advanced knowledge of Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Strong analytical and decision-making skills. Problem solving and analytical abilities, advanced knowledge of Excel and/or Google Sheets.
Effective communication and presentation skills. Ability to take complex topics, analyze and distill them down to actions and decision points.
Proficient in the use of financial management software (e.g., NetSuite and spreadsheet-based planning and reporting tools).
Effective partnership and influencing skills, able to work with every level of the organization.
Ability to take initiative and work independently in an unstructured, fast-moving, growth-oriented organization.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and thrive in an environment with rapidly changing conditions.

Compensation
$110,000 - $130,000 annual base pay. The compensation range may be adjusted based on experience and location.
Pay Transparency
Our compensation reflects several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position represents the expected salary for this position. Ultimately, in determining your pay it will be based on several factors including location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience and other job related factors. Roofstock is a total compensation company; the base salary is only part of our total compensation package.
