Responsibilities:
Lead the technical strategy and development of our GraphQL Middleware services.

Develop strategies for scaling and improving the performance of our GraphQL infrastructure, integrating with micro services, and eventually moving towards RPC and code less integrations.
Foster a high-performing team culture by mentoring engineers, providing technical guidance, and ensuring continuous improvement.
Partner with multiple teams and stakeholders across the company, including Senior Product Managers, Staff Engineers, and Technical Leads from frontend and backend teams.
Advocate for technical best practices, improve system reliability, and drive the GraphQL infrastructure roadmap forward.
Why HubSpot?
High Impact & Visibility: This role is part of a critical backend system used by multiple teams across HubSpot CRM.
Opportunity to Build & Scale: You'll have the opportunity to build the most advanced middleware systems at HubSpot and advocate for future backend evolution.
Career Growth: Lead a growing team and make your mark on the CRM product while representing backend teams in staff+ communities and cross-functional initiatives.
Preferred Experience:
Experience with backend systems at midsize to large companies, especially in high-traffic environments.
Familiarity with cross-team collaboration and working in platform or infrastructure roles.
Expertise with scaling and deploying micro services and event-driven architectures.
Knowledge of GraphQL, GRPC, and system monitoring best practices is a plus.
If you're passionate about building scalable systems, mentoring engineers, and making a significant impact at a high-growth company, we'd love to hear from you!
