Role Description:
Reddit is looking for an experienced Staff Product Designer, Accessibility on our UI Platform team to lead our cross-functional accessibility (a11y) program! In this role, you will drive the accessibility strategy and execution across our products, ensuring that our digital experiences are inclusive and accessible to all users. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers, and researchers to solve complex problems. Integrate accessibility into the design and development processes, advocate for best practices, and foster a culture of inclusivity.
Responsibilities:
Fully own accessibility across the entire company acting as the cross-functional expert driving the initiative.
Design and help develop accessible strategies, components, patterns, and best-practices in partnership with our Design Systems and Accessibility team ensuring alignment with overall business goals.
Serve as the primary accessibility expert and advocate, providing leadership and guidance to cross-functional teams.
Working closely with designers, engineers, and product managers to integrate accessibility from the ground up.
Lead the design and development of green-field a11y features ensuring that all digital products are usable by people with diverse abilities.
Advocate for users with disabilities by incorporating their feedback and needs into the design and development process.
Required Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in UX/UI design, with a strong portfolio showcasing your skills in designing for web and mobile applications.
4+ years in the UI/UX Accessibility design space
Experience in understanding and delivering accessible UX/UI at scale. Experience in social or consumer-facing products is a plus
Comfort with complexity and finding clarity in ambiguous situations
Strong communication skills while working closely with partners across the company
Humble, curious, and motivated to ship the best product
