About the Role
AKASA is the preeminent provider of generative AI solutions for the healthcare revenue cycle, from prior authorization to claim management.
As a Senior Software Engineer on the Data Platform team, you will be responsible for integrating analytics and reporting output directly into our customer-facing applications. You will also be responsible for improving upon the existing data platform infrastructure and adding data pipelines to support internal and external data requirements.
You will be positioned within the cross-functional Data Platform team and work in a deeply cross-functional and collaborative fashion across Engineering, Analytics, Machine Learning, and Product.

What You'll Do
Heavily contribute to setting the architectural direction for the Data Platform
Optimize existing Data Platform infrastructure, tooling, and data pipelines to support our expansion from supporting internal users only to also supporting external users
Work with a tech stack including but not limited to: Python, Postgres, Redshift, Prefect, Kubernetes, various AWS services, etc
Implement a new Data Platform API layer
Work with Engineering, Analytics, Data Science, Product, and other data platform users to understand and support their use cases
Explore new technologies and bring your expertise to AKASA
Mentor less senior team members
Skills & Qualifications
BS in Computer Science/Software Engineering, or similar
5-7+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience
Strong professional experience in at least one of the following programming languages (or a comparable language): Python, Java, C#, Ruby, Kotlin
Strong SQL experience
Cloud computing experience (AWS preferably)
AbleGET to work on greenfield projects as well as take ownership of existing projects
Deep knowledge of software development fundamentals including both object oriented design and functional programming
Highly self-sufficient and self-starting in solving complex problems and conducting projects end-to-end
A passion and excitement about healthcare’s unique challenges and opportunities
Great to have experience with…
Python
Data platforms, data pipelines, or comparable services
Data Warehouses (Amazon Redshift preferably)
Scheduling/orchestration technologies such as Prefect or Airflow
Kubernetes
BI tools (Tableau/Looker/Quicksight/SuperSet etc

Compensation
Based on market data and other factors, the salary range for this position is $175,000-$200,000 + Equity. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
