Pinterest’s Security team is seeking a Sr. Security Engineer to help fight automations and prevent abuses of the platform. You will define strategies, build solutions, perform data analysis, and work with teams to improve our overall anti-automation posture and enhance our bot detection capabilities. We are looking for a candidate with a passion for anti-automation and a strong background in bot detection. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building bot detection solutions and in-depth knowledge of industry best practices in coding and software engineering.
What you’ll do:
Identify gaps in our existing anti-automation approaches and drive improvements
Define anti-automation policies and strategies
Integrate industry best practices to our existing anti-automation systems
Deliver and review code that is well-documented, tested, and operable.
Work cross function to architect scalable solutions to service internal customers’ need on bot signals
Interact directly with stakeholders and define goals & metrics
Who you are:
5+ years of experience in anti-automation, bot detection, or fraud detection
Proficiency in a dynamic programming language such as Python, Java, or Go, required
Enthusiasm for the constant fight to bot detection and prevention
Strong coding skills and an ability to deliver well-documented, testable, and operable software solutions

We let the type of work you do guide the collaboration style. That means we're not always working in an office, but we continue to gather for key moments of collaboration and connection. This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6-months and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
