Sr. Program Manager - EDB Postgres Community Initiatives
Job Description:
As a key member of the team, you’ll be one of EDB’s primary faces to the Postgres Community, ensuring that we are appropriately recognized for our contributions to PostgreSQL as well as driving key community feedback and initiatives into the EDB Product organization.
What your impact will be:
In collaboration with EDB hackers, build a strategy regarding the best and most appropriate ways to amplify our work
Encourage, manage, amplify and monitor the public visibility and work of EDB hackers through meet-ups, blogs, podcasts, Planet Postgres, etc., encompassing everything from small patches to larger EDB-run OSS projects like Barman
Partner with Product Marketing to drive EDB’s Postgres Community conference strategy
Coordinate and support EDB’s social media and community event marketing, including monitoring of community communications channels
Promote EDB speakers and sponsorship at Postgres conferences, including coordinating & supporting speaker dry runs/feedback sessions
Further strengthen EDB’s ties to the community through internal and external mentoring programs, recruiting opportunities, and interfacing with community packagers
Ownership and communication of the “EDB contributions to Postgres” annual data project
Continuously assess EDB’s position in the community and develop ways to enhance and increase our community standing
What you will bring:
Passion, curiosity, and a highly articulate understanding of Postgres and its leadership role in the developer community
Stellar communications skills with a high-energy leadership style and a get-it-done ethos
Experience working in the Postgres community as a hacker and/or advocate
Excellent problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a distributed international team
Calm and methodical approach with good communication skills
What will give you an edge:
In-depth knowledge of Postgres and open source database technologies
Extensive experience in impactful communications across both the enterprise and the community
Experience working within a “you build it, you own it” culture
