About the Role:
The Communications team has the critical responsibility of not only defining and positioning Hims & Hers in the public eye, but also being on the cutting edge of introducing the telehealth industry to an increasingly broad audience. We shape and share the Hims & Hers story. We develop strategies to build brand reputation, raise awareness, increase acceptance, build trust and loyalty, and drive adoption of our products and services. Our job is to find creative and compelling ways to educate, inform, and inspire the world of Hims & Hers, and telehealth holistically.
We’re a team of intellectually curious, creative storytellers and problem solvers, and we’re looking for a healthcare industry expert who understands the complexities of healthcare policy and has a pulse on what healthcare reporters and publications care about. You love making the complex, simple and the abstract, resonate. You thrive working in the fast pace of a startup while being the steward of a public company that serves people’s health and well being. You can build from scratch, think big and start small, lead projects to align with business goals, contribute to cross-functional initiatives, and be a trusted partner to our legal, medical, public policy, design, content, and marketing teams.
You Will:
Proactively building and driving healthcare communications initiatives that align to our brand, mission, and values.
Leveraging your industry expertise to tell a nuanced story of the company’s transformative potential in the healthcare industry
Knowing what makes a meaningful story and mining for those stories deep within the business.
Understanding the competitive and regulatory landscape in order to tell new stories about the healthcare industry and using data to drive decision making.
Understanding Hims & Hers business goals and translating them into effective communications initiatives, as well as proactively planning for potential risk.
Cultivating strong healthcare media and industry relationships, as well as internal relationships across the organization.
Building and maintaining a calendar of industry events, as well as a strategy for telling the company’s story through the voice of our medical experts at those events
Developing a range of communication materials including messaging, scripts, press materials and company presentations in partnership with stakeholders internally and externally to position our medical experts and communicate our narrative.
Regularly engage with media and key external stakeholders to inform, educate and protect the brand.
Developing our medical experts as company spokespeople for media engagements.
Staying current on news and informing key stakeholders of competitive intelligence and marketplace opportunities and challenges.
You Have:
6+ years of experience in healthcare communications with experience in fast-paced, direct-to-consumer companies
Proven track record of building and advancing groundbreaking narratives, demonstrating strong business momentum
Outstanding and concise written and verbal communication skills
Proven ability to manage crisis situations as well reduce risk through effective preparation
Experience building relationships with media and working with executives
Deep track record working through complex, dynamic organizations
Strong healthcare media relationships and able to work effectively with external agencies
Entrepreneurial and proactive thinker who is able to hit the ground running and manage up
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities
Strong news and strategy judgment and ability to execute quickly
Self-motivated, fast learner, and strategic thinker; able to achieve high impact in a fast-paced or ambiguous environment
