Position Summary
The Senior Director of Brand Marketing will lead integrated marketing strategies to build Hanna Andersson's
brand and drive customer engagement.
Reporting directly to the Chief Brand Officer (CBO), this role focuses on helping to deliver innovative and cohesive brand campaigns, ensuring commercial strategies are communicated to the broader team, and ensuring marketing alignment with the company's strategic goals. The Senior Director will collaborate cross-functionally to amplify the brand's voice and contribute to Hanna Andersson's position as a leader in the market.
Primary Duties (Identified Essential Functions*)
Brand Strategy and Leadership:
Partner with the Chief Brand Officer to develop and execute long-term brand strategies that align with company objectives and customer insights.
Act as a brand steward, ensuring all marketing and communication efforts reflect Hanna Andersson’s mission, values, and aesthetic.
Integrated Marketing and Campaigns:
Work with cross-functional marketing teams in the development and communication of 360° marketing plans, seasonal campaigns and key brand initiatives across all channels.
Work with Brand and Creative team peers to drive the strategic execution of Marketing efforts to ensure consistency and impact.
Media planning and buying experience is a plus to aid in driving brand ideas in the applicable spaces that may include, but not exclusive to TV, Print, Digital Media, Social Media etc.
Public Relations and Partnerships:
Provide oversight and strategic direction to the Sr. Manager of PR and Partnerships, ensuring high-quality media relations, brand storytelling, and partnership activations.
Build and nurture relationships with key external partners, media outlets, and influencers to enhance Hanna Andersson’s visibility and relevance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Collaborate with leaders in Product, Digital, and Creative to align marketing strategies with broader company objectives.
Collaborate with Company Planning and Product partners on commercial planning. Specifically, responsible for communicating the promotional intent, cadence and changes to the cross-functional teams to ensure executional needs are developed.
Team Leadership and Development:
Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and accountability.
Manage external agencies and vendors to ensure timely, high-quality delivery of marketing and communications initiatives.
Measurement and Reporting:
Monitor and analyze campaign performance, media, and partnership results to identify insights and optimize future strategies.
Provide actionable reports to leadership on key performance indicators and competitive benchmarks.
Crisis Communications Support:
Partner with the PR team, Chief Brand Officer and, as needed, the Chief People Officer to manage sensitive brand or reputational issues, ensuring internal and external messaging is aligned with company values and priorities.
Budget Management:
Oversee the brand marketing budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources across campaigns, partnerships, and PR efforts.
Education & Qualifications
10+ years of experience in brand marketing with global brand(s), with demonstrated leadership in strategic planning and execution.
Experience with retail brand(s) highly preferred, including fashion and apparel.
Proven track record in developing and delivering integrated marketing campaigns that drive measurable business results.
Strong leadership (minimum 5+ years) and team-building skills, with the ability to mentor and inspire both direct reports and cross-functional partners.
Experience managing agencies and external partners to deliver exceptional results.
Expertise in managing high-value partnerships, media relations, and brand storytelling.
Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with experience working across multiple functions and levels of an organization.
Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate insights into actionable strategies.
Media planning and/or buying experience preferred.
A background in crisis communications or reputation management is preferred.
$158,000 - $210,000 a year
