Sourcing Manager - Packaging
About the Role:
Hims & hers is seeking a Sourcing Manager, Packaging who will focus on supporting vendor and business relationships through new exploration, vetting, onboarding, and negotiations. The role will support all packaging sourcing for the core business units through new product/package development and sourcing, process improvements, sustainability, and cost savings efforts. The Package Sourcing Manager will provide support for and report to the Senior Manager of Package Sourcing.
You Will:
Lead new vendor exploration to expand the Hims & Hers supplier network
Execute non-disclosure agreements, supply agreements, and internal vendor set ups
Manage business/vendor relationships
Support sourcing and package development for the core business units
Lead/Support cost savings and sustainability projects across the brand portfolio
Build/improve current development process through milestones, templates, and approval forms.
Identify the relevant test methods (components & Finished Goods) and conduct package testing and data validations.
Manage pack standards and range boards from suppliers. Review/approve/distribute to quality, design, and vendors
Work with the design team to establish comprehensive sourcing decks capturing all required packaging details for component sourcing.
Partner with vendor base to source, evaluate, and present package options to the team
Review and verify technical packaging elements (die-line, technical drawings, weight claim, stack ups)
Be responsible for all package costing by managing requests for quotes with vendors and ensuring all new development falls within the provided cost targets.
Develop Secondary and Tertiary packages with the suppliers and manufacturers
Responsible for creating Fill and Assembly instructions for all new launches with internal and external manufacturers.
Review and approve all artwork against die-line, print specs, UPC, and costing
Troubleshoot both new and on-going package quality issues, partnering with the quality team, suppliers, and manufacturers.
Support product line trails and manufacturing start ups on site
Solicit RFx events as needed.
You Have:
BS+ Degree in Package Engineering, Packaging Sales, Procurement, or a similar discipline
3-5 years of relevant packaging or procurement experience
Strong Vendor relationship management skills
Experience in Package testing and procedures (transit, compatibility, etc)
Knowledge of different packaging formats and materials
Remote work experience required
Energetic, highly self-motivated and able to work efficiently and productively in a rapidly-growing company
Strong ability to evaluate processes and to facilitate effective change
Excellent cross-functional collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong project management skills
Ability to work independently to support quality goals

Conditions of Employment:
This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.
