Sourcing Lead - Education

brightwheel is seeking an experienced sourcing lead who can help guide the supply chain strategy to handle exponential growth. It will be up to you to ensure a streamlined purchasing process. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing vendor relationships and optimizing purchasing processes to support the company’s goals. Key responsibilities include monitoring raw material inventory levels, analyzing purchasing needs, and collaborating cross-functionally to meet quality and cost objectives. You should be energized by opportunities to create, continuously improve, and execute - so we always provide high-quality curriculum kits to our customers as expected and in the most efficient way possible.
What You’ll Do
Develop strategy for sourcing materials domestically and internationally for our monthly curriculum kits
Identify new factories where necessary, establish relationships, vet options to secure supply
Lead negotiations and manage purchase orders
Develop inventory management systems for end-to-end supply chain visibility
Work with Finance and Demand Planning to ensure proper supply to serve demand
Solve critical issues with supply in collaboration with production, press teams, and curriculum development
Qualifications, Skills, & Abilities
5+ years experience with international and domestic sourcing
Ability to develop and execute strategies to optimize supply
Experience with supply planning analytics
People management skills and experience building a team
Familiarity with supply chain IT systems to consider for implementation
Experience with children’s products, art supplies, publishing a plus
$86,000 - $116,000 a year
brightwheel is committed to internal pay equity and offers a competitive compensation package, including base salary, equity, and benefits. For cash compensation, brightwheel sets standard ranges for all roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar-stage growth companies. Multiple factors determine final offer amounts, including geographic location, candidate experience, and expertise.
