About the role
As part of the Security Engineering Backend team, you will work on APIs that serve Coalition Control, our user-facing product enabling business owners to detect and mitigate cyber risk. You will be working across multiple software development projects that can range from APIs serving the frontend and internal tools, to scraping and ETL workflows.
Our core platform is written mostly in Python with some services in Go, running in AWS. We prefer to use the right tool for the job and make pragmatic judgments about how to scale and decouple systems as we continue to grow.
Responsibilities
Be part of a remote team
Design, develop and test backend implementations of new and existing product features, including features powered by AI
Improve the reliability and scalability of our backend APIs
Collaborate with the product team and other engineering teams as we define behavior for new features targeting security professionals.
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science or a related field.
Experienced writing code in modern programming languages, preferably in Python.
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey engineering-related topics to team members.
Effective problem-solving skills to analyze and debug code.
Experience with SQL databases and data modeling
Curiosity and desire to learn about how things work at the deepest levels

Experience writing monitors and alerts
Knowledge of HTTP / REST security concepts, including common vulnerabilities
Compensation
Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The US base salary for this position ranges from $92,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $132,000/year in our highest geographic market. Consistent with applicable laws, an employee's pay within this range is based on a number of factors, which include but are not limited to relevant education, skills, job-related knowledge, qualifications, work experience, credentials, and/or geographic location. Your recruiter can share more on target salary for your location during the interview process. Coalition, Inc. reserves the right to modify this range as needed.
