The Data Infrastructure and Observability Team is responsible for architecting, implementing, and optimizing the data infrastructure that underpins our data-driven initiatives. The team's primary focus is on establishing a robust and scalable foundation for data collection, storage, processing, analysis, and visualization. Additionally, the team works on ensuring comprehensive observability across the entire data ecosystem to enable data-driven decision-making, identify anomalies, and proactively address potential issues. Engineers on the Data Infrastructure and Observability team work on infrastructures that power all of Plaid’s data use cases, including Analytics, ML, Metrics, and Logging.
As a member of the Data Infrastructure and Observability team, you will play a crucial role in designing, building, and maintaining the foundational elements that empower our organization to harness the potential of data effectively. This role is suited for individuals who thrive in an environment with vast scope and diverse surface areas, and who are passionate about developing cutting-edge data solutions.
We prioritize technical excellence as a fundamental aspect of our team's culture. We believe that the pursuit of excellence is crucial in delivering high-quality data infrastructure and observability solutions. (This includes good documentation, testing plans, improving on-call experience etc).
Responsibilities
Develop and implement comprehensive monitoring and observability solutions to gain real-time insights into the health and performance of the data infrastructure.
Establish proactive alerting mechanisms to identify and resolve issues promptly.
Working with other senior engineers on RightSize projects to improve our cost efficiency, providing cost data insight.
Leading key Data Infrastructure and Observability projects across multiple work streams.
Working with stakeholders in other teams and functions to define technical roadmaps for key backend systems and abstractions across Plaid.
Qualifications
2+ year experience working on backend systems and teams.
Working and operating complex distributed systems.
Collaborate with different stakeholders/customers to drive cross-functional projects.
Target base salary for this role is between $137,694 and $186,300 per year. Additional compensation in the form(s) of equity and/or commission are dependent on the position offered. Plaid provides a comprehensive benefit plan, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k). Pay is based on factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience and skillset, and location. Pay and benefits are subject to change at any time, consistent with the terms of any applicable compensation or benefit plans.
