The Experimentation Configuration Platform (XP Config) team is a cross-functional engineering team that builds systems focused on experience and experiment management, enabling teams to make data-driven decisions that improve the Netflix experience across multiple canvases.
We are seeking a highly skilled engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate is a strong engineer with experience in distributed systems who is able to effectively collaborate with other engineering teams and beyond.
What you will do…
As an engineer on the XP Config team, you’ll develop and enhance systems that enable product teams to quickly assess various hypotheses and act on the insights derived from them. You will work on experience management tools that make it easy to define, deploy, monitor, A/B test and debug configurable aspects of the Netflix user experience, as well as experiment management tools that empower test owners to create and annotate A/B tests and allocation plans.
This is a high impact role where your contributions will not only improve the experimentation lifecycle for teams at Netflix but also enhance the overall product experience for our users.
Required Skills/Experience:
Experience with distributed architectures and scaling systems
Thrive in an environment that requires you to partner with multiple cross-functional teams as stakeholders/customers
Experience making data and metrics-driven optimizations/decisions
Ability to solve problems that span multiple interconnected systems
Experience implementing in Java, Kotlin, or other object-oriented languages for a distributed environment
Prior experience working on platforms and demonstrating developer empathy
Great oral and written communication skills
Nice To Have Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in CS, EE, or similar
Experience with data frameworks such as Hadoop, Hive, and Spark
Experience with databases such as Cassandra and PostgreSQL
Experience working on tooling and systems that support experimentation at scale
Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $170,000 - $720,000.
Netflix provides comprehensive benefits including Health Plans, Mental Health support, a 401(k) Retirement Plan with employer match, Stock Option Program, Disability Programs, Health Savings and Flexible Spending Accounts, Family-forming benefits, and Life and Serious Injury Benefits. We also offer paid leave of absence programs. Full-time hourly employees accrue 35 days annually for paid time off to be used for vacation, holidays, and sick paid time off.
