Senior UX Researcher
Ro is a direct-to-patient healthcare company with a mission of helping patients achieve their health goals by delivering the easiest, most effective care possible. Ro is the only company to offer nationwide telehealth, labs, and pharmacy services. This is enabled by Ro's vertically integrated platform that helps patients achieve their goals through a convenient, end-to-end healthcare experience spanning from diagnosis, to delivery of medication, to ongoing care. Since 2017, Ro has helped millions of patients in nearly every single county in the United States, including 98% of primary care deserts.
The healthcare system today is not designed to help patients achieve their goals. It’s designed around institutions such as hospitals and insurance companies. A patient centric healthcare system is one that is designed around the goals a patient wants to achieve. We’re building healthcare that puts patients in control, provides reactive and proactive care, has transparent pricing and process, is extremely effective and ridiculously convenient, and evolves over time based on patients’ goals.
Ro has been recognized as a Fortune Best Workplace in New York and Health Care for four consecutive years (2021-2024). In 2023, Ro was also named Best Workplace for Parents for the third year in a row. In 2022, Ro was listed as a CNBC Disruptor 50.

This is a pivotal role, leading the way in how we embed user experience research into design and drive meaningful impact across the product life cycle.
What You'll Do:
Drive Strategic Product Insights - Develop a deep understanding of our patients, identifying their needs, pain points, and opportunities that help shape our opportunities and solutions throughout the design process
Collaborate Closely with Product Design - Partner closely with designers to provide actionable insights, inform the development of new products and features, validate concepts, and conduct usability testing
Represent the Patient in Design Decisions - As part of the broader Insights function, you will be the voice of our patients in every design discussion, ensuring that their needs and perspectives are represented in both large-scale product strategies and day-to-day design decisions
Establish and Scale Research Within Our Design Organization - As the first UXR hire dedicated to product design, you will be responsible for establishing and scaling impactful research within our design organization. You’ll establish best practices, ensure research is embedded in the design process, and help foster a culture that balances thoughtful work with speed to impact on the business.
Orient Towards Action - Deliver research that not only uncovers insights, but drives action. Your work will power the team to move quickly towards building better experiences for patients. And you will work closely with your stakeholders to make sure insights from patients are adopted, and that decisions are aligned to both patient and business needs.
