Pinterest is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Technical Program Manager to join our team and take on the responsibility for capacity and cloud vendor management. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and coordinating capacity planning efforts with internal stakeholders, defining the hardware roadmap with capacity engineering teams, and ensuring optimal hardware utilization through various optimization strategies.
What you’ll do:
Collaborate with capacity engineering teams to define and execute hardware roadmap
Coordinate capacity planning efforts with internal and external stakeholders to ensure seamless operations
Lead holiday forecasting to ensure capacity meets peak demand requirements
Own and manage capacity fleet protection strategy for at-risk instances, such as GPUs
Drive EC2 efficiency initiatives to improve overall performance and cost-effectiveness
Implement hardware optimization strategies, including fleet migrations, instance lifecycles, right-sizing, load testing frameworks, and profiling tools
Drive product vision and execution plans for capacity management tooling
Ensure that cloud vendor relationships are managed consistently, both in terms of feature delivery, escalation management, executive programming, and cross-organizational engagement/partnership
Ensure that the AWS account team, allocated to support Pinterest, is effectively managed and appropriately engaged. Responsibilities include:
Keeping track of feature asks and delivery
Ensure that agendas are programmed, participation is coordinated, and pre-meeting artifacts are generated to maximize the value of meeting impact.
Drive accountability for action items from executive meetings.
Keep track of new product offerings and coordinate meetings internally with Pinterest Engineering stakeholders for whom the offering would be valid
What we’re looking for:
5+ years of experience in technical program management and vendor management
Entrepreneurial spirit with strong leadership, who can develop and lead a new initiative from the ground up and thrive in ambiguity
Passion for execution and getting things done with a focus on streamlining process across disparate groups
Solid technical background and ability to quickly understand technical designs, challenges, and risks
Experience breaking down complex problems and driving decision making
Proven ability to manage competing priorities across teams
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and drive projects to completion
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred experience with infrastructure management, either on-prem or cloud-based (cloud-based is preferred)
