As a Senior Software Engineer on the Handyman & Home Warranty team, you will design, build, and support customer ecommerce and claims experiences, policy management solutions, pricing and payment functionality, and tools for our partner contractors who are dispatched to customer's homes. What You Will Do As A Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack
Design, implement, test, document, and maintain software systems for Porch’s handyman and home warranty business systems.
Collaborate across different teams and operational stakeholders to ensure that our products delight customers, external professional users, and internal users.
Maintain high engineering standards and advance the automation of development and business flows Drive best practices, standards, and policies for software development and operations, including test coverage, software quality, and automation.
Communicate challenges, solutions, and guidance to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Problem Solving: Analyze and resolve complex technical issues in a timely manner.
Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
Innovation: Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our solutions remain cutting-edge.
What You Will Bring As A Senior Software Engineer - Full Stack
8+ years of experience in a software engineering role.
Bachelor's degree in computer science, or 4 years equivalent working experience in leu of.
Strong experience with JVM languages (Scala is plus but not a requirement).
Strong experience with modern UI frameworks and standards (React, JavaScript, Typescript).
Experience with Kubernetes or similar containerized software deployment/management tools.
Experience with PagerDuty or similar incident monitoring platform.
Experience with Datadog or similar application performance tooling.
Fundamental understanding of object-oriented programming, functional programming, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
Significant hands-on experience building critical production systems; passion for building great software.
Excellent written and communication skills, both English and Hindi
Ability to work within core US business hours / time zone expectations - Eastern Standard Time (EST) overlap
Workspace: A quiet space to work, an internet connection of at least 30 Mbps download | 10 Mbps upload
