Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

About the role
The Site Reliability Engineering team in CaptivateIQ operates across the engineering organization, supporting our development teams by providing them with the tools and processes they need to get their job done well. We ensure that the service provided by our product is great for the paying customers and when it isn’t we ensure that the business is well informed. We do this by providing infrastructure, platform, reliability, and observability support to our internal customers to help them make the product great.
The team are thoughtful and pragmatic engineers who balance doing things right versus doing things right now. We invest in iterative efforts to refine or pivot our work, deliver real-world results, and reflect on the process in order to improve it incrementally. We are fully remote and invest in written communication for long term institutional memory while valuing the synchronous time we have together in order to build and strengthen
Responsibilities:
Help the engineering team to deliver safe, reliable code to production
Design, develop and maintain our infrastructure as we grow
Develop monitoring and dashboards to ensure visibility our application’s performance and stability
Partner with delivery teams to design and implement reliable and resilient services in the cloud
Create written documentation, runbooks, and designs, to accelerate learning and troubleshooting
Automate existing manual processes to reduce toil
Ensure CaptivateIQ exceeds compliance and security commitments
Requirements:
7+ years of experience in an Software Engineer, SRE or DevOps role
Significant experience with AWS, Cloud IaaS management, and Infrastructure as Code
Significant experience building SaaS products or operating in SaaS companies
Experience contributing to DexEx efforts and related projects
Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, ECS, Nomad, Kubernetes)
Experience with writing code (Bash, Python, Golang)
Strong communication and organizational skills
Bonus Points:
Experience in building web applications
Experience with PostgreSQL and RDS
Experience with Redis and ElastiCache
Experience in a regulated environment (e.g., HIPAA, PCI)
Experience with SOC2 audits and controls

CaptivateIQ takes a market-based approach to pay, and the base salary range for this job posting shows the minimum and maximum target starting base salary. The successful candidate’s starting base salary will be determined based on the candidate’s job-related skills, relevant experience, education, work location, market conditions, and other factors. This range may be modified in the future. Certain positions may be eligible for incentive compensation, equity, and other benefits.
