Senior Reconciliation Analyst
Mercury is building a complete finance stack for startups. We work hard to create the easiest and safest banking* experience possible to simplify entrepreneurs' and business owners’ financial lives.
Underneath all our products is a network of partners, payment rails, and funds flows that enable a powerful, streamlined user experience. The Reconciliation team enables the Mercury system by ensuring end-to-end tracking of transactions through partner banks, protecting customer funds through timely, rigorous, and efficient reconciliation.
We’re looking to hire a Senior Reconciliation Analyst who will be at the forefront of operationalizing and standardizing reconciliation operations from start to finish. As a senior member of this team, you will collaborate with a wide range of internal and external partners to thoroughly ledger, reconcile, and investigate edge cases in the underlying money movements that power Mercury’s suite of financial products.
*Mercury is a financial technology company, not a bank. Banking services provided by Choice Financial Group and Evolve Bank & Trust, Members FDIC.
You will:
Reconcile customer transactions across a variety of payment rails and account types
Leverage and utilize data to make strategic long-term decisions regarding our reconciliation policies
Navigate partner asks and quickly communicate those to internal stakeholders
Partake in cross-functional efforts across Eng, Product, and Data Science to scale our processes
Feel confident when using data and intuition to make decisions in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, while demonstrating curiosity and a growth mindset
Operate autonomously and find joy in driving efficiency
You have:
4+ years of experience writing SQL to efficiently query large, complex datasets, including 2+ years in a financial technology or financial services company
Strong analytical skills, including background in investigating financial data mismatches and identifying root causes
Comfort collaborating with both technical and non-technical partners to solve cross-functional challenges
Experience operating independently and executing on multiple projects simultaneously with effective prioritization and strong communication
Desire to drive rigorous, auditable processes to completion through partnership with internal and external stakeholders
Interest in technical mentorship of junior team members
