Senior Quality Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer with at least 5 years of experience in software and SaaS testing, specifically skilled in front-end and back-end testing for Linux-based SaaS applications. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and proven leadership experience. As a Senior Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the high quality and reliability of our SaaS platform. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify, document, and resolve defects. Additionally, you will design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans, utilizing your expertise in MacOS, cloud-based testing, SQL databases, Kubernetes, and Agile Scrum methodologies.
What You'll Do:
Use TestRail to manage and track manual testing efforts, and provide metrics on testing progress and defects found
Conduct regular test plan reviews with stakeholders to ensure everyone understands what will be tested and has input and sign-off ability.
Identify, report, and track defects using our issue tracking system (e.g., Jira, DataDog, Sentry), providing detailed bug reports with steps to reproduce expected results, and actual results
Collaborate with development teams to resolve defects, ensuring timely and high-quality fixes
Develop and maintain testing documentation, including test plans, test cases, and test scripts
Work closely with development teams to ensure that tests are integrated into the CI/CD pipeline and that automated tests are run regularly
Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software testing, applying this knowledge to improve our testing processes and strategies continuously
Participate in retrospectives and contribute to process improvements, ensuring that our testing processes are efficient, effective, and aligned with or exceed industry best practices
About You:
At least 5 years of experience in software testing, with a focus on front-end and back-end testing
Proficiency in Python
Experience with MySQL databases and SQL queries
Possesses strong skills in writing comprehensive and detailed test cases and maintaining and updating them effectively.
Strong proficiency in the MacOS operating system and command-line interfaces
Proven expertise in Agile Scrum methodologies, including sprint planning, backlog management, and retrospectives
Excellent problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and ability to write detailed bug reports
Strong time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
Experience with industry-standard testing tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Appium, Pytest)
Experience with back-end API testing using tools such as Postman
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Experience with test management tools (e.g., TestRail)
Experience working in Agile environments, with a strong understanding of Scrum and Kanban principles
