Team & Role Description
Brand safety is an extremely critical component of online advertising, and brand safety products ensure that ads do not appear in a context that is deemed inappropriate by the advertiser.

Our unique community structure enables us to solve for brand safety in a very unique and scalable manner. Reddit also has the opportunity to lead this space through automation and innovation by utilizing the strengths of our layered safety and moderation across consumer and ads.
Reddit gives brands flexibility and control over the type of content and engagement that surrounds their message. Techniques available to advertisers for brand safety include the ability to select inventory type, turn comments off, negative keyword exclusions, and community exclusions.
You will be responsible for building products that leverage machine learning and NLP techniques, as well as heuristics and policy rules, for implementing precise brand safety features. At the same time, your product has to make sure that the quality ad inventory continues to be widely available to advertisers. Meeting advertiser brand safety expectations also requires assembling an ecosystem of 3rd party solutions, and building the right tools for human-in-the-loop types of needs. You will work across a XFN team to bring to life our product strategy and roadmap, including technical and data teams as well as commercialization teams such as product marketing
The impact of this role is measured by the improvements in brand safety metrics and in available ad inventory. As reddit continues to grow and expand its offerings to advertisers, your product strategy will directly impact long term revenue growth and by enabling additional advances in brand safety
Responsibilities:
Own product strategy and roadmap for Reddit’s Ads brand safety and suitability products
Become a thought leader at Reddit on brand safety, and provide insightful input for making related product and policy decisions
Build wide ranging XFN relationships across Reddit's Consumer and Monetization organizations
Partner with third party vendors, including those for inventory classification and viewability
Required Qualifications
Ad-tech expertise with a solid understanding of the online advertising business
3-5+ years of product management experience, with clear product area leadership
Extremely well organized and detail oriented
Strategic thinker and problem solver
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Highly data driven
Preferred Skills:
Brand Safety, Trust and Safety, or Brand Suitability experience is a big plus
Experience building applied machine learning products
Track record of collaborating with Legal and Policy teams on complex problems
