About the role

As a Senior Product Designer on our Organizations team, you will design a foundational framework that enables centralized management of users, groups, and settings across the GitLab experience. This pivotal initiative aims to simplify administration, enhance scalability, and improve the experience for large-scale organizations and their end users.

In this role, you will develop a deep understanding of the GitLab product to address complex challenges related to user access, settings administration, and inheritance to uncover opportunities for improvement. You’ll play a key role in shaping a long-term vision for the Organizations experience, defining how it will evolve to meet the needs of users while aligning with GitLab’s strategic goals. Additionally, you’ll contribute to a migration strategy that ensures the transition is compelling and valuable as we iterate to reach the long-term vision.

This position provides an opportunity to work on a highly visible and impactful set of projects, collaborating closely with user researchers, engineers, and stakeholders across GitLab. You’ll navigate the diverse needs of administrators and daily users, ensuring that your solutions serve both effectively. Success in this role will require excellent product knowledge, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills as you work with teams adapting their features to align with the new framework.

By joining this team, you’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of GitLab while leaving a lasting mark on a product that impacts millions of users. This is also a chance to grow as a UX leader, contributing to the long-term scalability of GitLab and working alongside talented designers and cross-functional partners across the company.
