With continued top-line growth and global expansion, we are looking to fill a newly created role of Senior Tax Manager for Global Planning & Reporting.
This position will have a leadership role for setting up the tax department for success to help HubSpot scale, streamlining tax processes while using exciting new tax technologies. This new role will report into the Head of Global Planning and Reporting and support the tax function as it continues being a strong business partner across the Company.
In this role the essential duties and responsibilities will include:
Play a key role in the evolution of our Tax function by enabling HubSpot’s Finance organization to build the best in class tax planning and reporting team.
Lead a team of 2 tax professionals to meet the quarterly and annual requirements of ASC 740 income tax provision, including all disclosures.
Identify and document potential areas of risk related to the tax provision and evaluate reserve requirements.
Partner with the tax technology team to in-house US tax return preparation (Thomson Reuters Onesource).
Determine opportunities to optimize HubSpot’s tax positions.
Support ongoing enhancements to the global transfer pricing strategy and reporting. Ensure accurate recording of transfer pricing adjustments and compliance with HubSpot’s global transfer pricing policies.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and operations, to ensure alignment on tax strategies and reporting requirements.
Support global controversy and audit defense efforts.
Analyze impact of proposed and enacted tax legislation for HubSpot, keeping abreast of tax law changes in the US and foreign jurisdictions. Educate the broader tax team on these developments as we endeavour to be learn it alls (not know it alls).
Develop tax professionals on important tax and ASC 740 concepts.
Lead special projects as needed including tax attribute studies, M&A, investments and internal reorganizations.
Manage global tax advisors timeliness and accuracy of deliverables.
Contribute to the transformation of the tax function to scale for growth, which includes tax technology, process simplification and standardization, and the use of data and technology.
Develop, maintain and document internal controls that adhere to SOX compliance, ensuring continued compliance with local regulations and tax laws.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field required, Master of Science’s degree in Taxation and CPA certification preferred.
10+ years of experience in public accounting and/or a U.S. multinational company required.
Strong tax technical base with particular focus on ASC 740 expertise. Working understanding of non-GAAP vs GAAP disclosures and GAAP to Stat differences.
Strong background in US and international tax concepts such as GILTI, BEAT, FTC.
ONESOURCE proficiency required.
Working knowledge of data wrangling tools required (such as Alteryx).
Technology/SaaS experience preferred.
Experience with NetSuite preferred or another major ERP required .
Willingness to roll-up your sleeves when work needs to get done.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Self-driven, self-starter, goal oriented, and someone who can work independently to identify process improvements and drive the team to implement.
Strong oral and written skills with excellent communication.
Ability to research issues, document conclusions, and communicate findings.
Ability to work well with others, including as part of cross-functional teams and locations.
