Role Description & Impact Statement
As a key leader reporting to the Head of Sales & Business Development, you will play a critical role in building and scaling a high-performance business development organization. The Sr. Manager of Business Development will oversee the Commercial and Enterprise BDR teams who are responsible for both inbound and outbound pipeline generation. You'll play a pivotal role in driving the team's success and fostering a culture of excellence. This position requires strategic leadership, effective coaching, and a deep understanding of B2B prospecting methodologies. You will be a pivotal and strategic leader who can drive results, inspire a team, and continuously innovate to drive business growth.
This is a remote opportunity within Canada and the US.
What we're looking for:
5+ years of experience in sales related roles, including 1- 2 years directly managing both Inbound and Outbound BDR/SDR employees in a B2B environment.
Experience directly related to supporting the Commercial and Enterprise business segments
Experience engineering the business in partnership with Marketing to maximize inbound flow
Proven track record of success in generating quality sales pipeline within a SaaS or B2B organization
Experience recruiting, hiring, and developing high-performing individuals
Passion for coaching, motivating, and mentoring others to achieve their full potential
Strong analytical skills with the ability to leverage data for decision-making and strategy development
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to inspire and influence stakeholders and team members of varying levels
Familiarity with sales technologies and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, Outreach, Nooks)
Ability to adapt inbound and outbound sequences and scripts by persona and industry for maximum effectiveness

Strategy & roadmap:
Leverage your deep expertise in outbound sales and business development to craft and execute effective, high-impact strategies that drive growth and optimize the sales process.
Team Leadership:
Expand and develop the BDR and SDR sales teams focused on sales in the NORAM region, including hiring, onboarding, career development, and performance management of direct reports. Implement processes and provide consistent coaching to ensure team efficiency and goal achievement.
Process Optimization:
Continuously refine and optimize both inbound and outbound processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Implement best practices in outreach, follow-up, and qualification to ensure a streamlined and scalable operation
Leverage technology and sales tools such as Salesforce, Outreach, and LinkedIn Sales Navigator to drive productivity and results
Training and Development:
Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for BDRs, focusing on prospecting skills, objection handling, and product knowledge
Stay abreast of industry trends and incorporate relevant insights into training programs to keep the team ahead of the curve
Collaboration and Communication:
Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to align on lead generation goals and strategies
Facilitate open communication channels between BDRs and other departments to share insights and improve overall business processes
USA-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $122,000 USD and $166,000 USD and is commission eligible. The role is also eligible for immediate participation in 1Password's benefits program (health, dental, 401k and many others), utilization of our generous paid time off, an equity grant and, where applicable, participation in our incentive programs.
Canada-based roles only: The Annual base salary for this role is between $121,000 CAD and $163,000 CAD and is commission eligible. While we are a remote-first company, occasional travel for in-person engagement will be a part of this role. This may include but is not limited to bi-annual department-wide offsites, quarterly department meetings and periodic customer events. These events will typically be held in varying locations across Canada and the USA. In leadership roles, you can expect to travel once per month on average.
