We’re looking for an experienced Growth Onboarding Product Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping this experience. Reporting to the Manager of Growth Product Management, you will partner with Engineering, UX, and Growth Marketing to create intuitive onboarding flows that ensure users can easily get started and see immediate value.
The Role
As a Growth Product Manager for Onboarding, you will own the onboarding experience for Grafana Cloud, guiding users from sign-up to meaningful product engagement. You’ll set and track key metrics to measure onboarding success.
As a Growth Product Manager focused on onboarding, you will:
Develop and lead the onboarding strategy to help users get setup and understand the value of Grafana Cloud
Design and run A/B tests to identify friction points and improve the onboarding flow
Collaborate with design, engineering, and data teams to ensure seamless execution of experiments and accurate tracking of key onboarding metrics
Set and track KPIs, such as time-to-value, engagement rates, and conversion rates, to measure the success of onboarding initiatives
Continuously analyze user behavior and test results to refine and enhance the onboarding process
Extend the onboarding journey beyond initial setup, driving deeper user engagement and long-term retention
Partner with the Growth Manager to align in-product communications and onboarding emails with the overall strategy
Work cross-functionally to align goals and execute onboarding experiments at scale, ensuring alignment with Growth, UX, and Engineering teams
You’re the right fit if you have…
Experience working in the developer tools ecosystem
Strong proficiency in SQL for analyzing user behavior, tracking key metrics, and optimizing conversion funnels using tools like Grafana, BigQuery, and Fullstory
The ability to translate technical requirements effectively for both engineering and non-technical teams
Familiarity with A/B testing and data-driven decision-making to improve user journeys
Solid product management skills: roadmap creation, executing cross-functional projects, and iterating on experiments
A resourceful, problem-solving mindset and the ability to thrive in ambiguous situations
A self-starter attitude, capable of taking ownership and balancing independent work with seeking support when needed
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills, working with teams like design, engineering, and marketing to scale onboarding initiatives
The ability to turn complex product features into clear, actionable onboarding steps and manage projects end-to-end with minimal oversight
Comfort using GitHub to manage projects, collaborate with engineers, and track progress
A bonus if you have…
Familiarity with A/B testing platforms and growth experimentation processes
Experience driving onboarding or activation initiatives in a B2B SaaS or developer tools environment
Experience in Growth Product Management, focusing on user acquisition, activation, or onboarding
Familiarity with Grafana
