Senior Global Payroll Specialist
Location: While this position is posted in a specific location, all of Oyster’s positions are fully remote and you can work from home. Forever. This role requires you to be based within AMER time zones to ensure optimal collaboration with our teams and clients.
What you'll do…
We are looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Senior Payroll Specialist to join our Global Payroll Centre of Excellence team, who will be focusing on U.S. global payroll operations. In this role, you will handle the end-to-end payroll process for our U.S.-based clients, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing in line with federal, state, and local regulations. This position requires in-depth knowledge of U.S. payroll laws, meticulous attention to detail, and a customer-focused approach.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing: Process payroll accurately and on time for multiple PEO US clients, adhering to all relevant statutory requirements.
Tax Reporting: Collaborate with the tax and legal teams to ensure accurate payroll tax deductions, filings, and compliance with tax regulations.
Data transformation and analytics: Experienced in data transformation, skilled in rapid data manipulation, Excel, Google Sheets, and advanced formulas. Proficient in standardizing software outputs.
Reporting: Generate payroll reports as needed for clients, internal teams, and compliance purposes, ensuring data accuracy.
Compliance: Ensure payroll processes adhere to country tax and compliance regulations
Collaboration: Work closely with external vendors, Payroll Operations and Finance teams to coordinate payroll activities and ensure the correct processing of taxes, benefits, and deductions.
Knowledge:Stay up to date with federal, state, and local payroll laws, proactively advising clients on relevant updates.
Query Resolution: Respond to and resolve payroll inquiries, providing expert support and guidance on USA payroll legislation.
Process Improvement: Continuously review and refine payroll processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and compliance
What We're Looking For :
Experience: 5+ years of US payroll experience processing within a PEO or similar environment.
Technical Skills: Knowledge of PrismHR (or equivalent), advanced Excel/Gsheet skills, experience of data transformation tooling
Organizational skills: Strong organizational skills and the ability to develop and maintain an organized structure.
Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of payroll tax laws, and other payroll-related compliance requirements.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends, and provide actionable insights.
Detail-oriented: High attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in payroll data, reports, and reconciliations.
Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Problem-Solving: Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on resolving payroll discrepancies and improving processes.
