About the Role
We're looking for a Senior Director, SEO & Content who will be responsible for leading an SEO and Content team comprised of full-time employees and contractors. OpenPhone is a PLG first company, and the majority of our demand is inbound. You will play a key role in OpenPhone’s growth, responsible for increasing traffic and pipeline through a deep understanding of SEO best practices and a deep curiosity and passion for understanding our ideal users and what drives them. With a strong track record of experimentation and execution, you’ll keep us at the leading edge of tactics and changes to the overall search and knowledge ecosystem. Your scope will encompass developing our SEO and content strategy by working closely with cross-functional teams to execute and adapt our strategy to hit and exceed business goals.
Some of the things you’ll do:
Define and successfully execute our SEO programs to drive consistent growth through organic web traffic.
Identify and prioritize high value SEO content to be created and/or refreshed to increase web traffic and domain authority.
Lead our content efforts to create high value content for both lower funnel acquisition efforts and broader awareness among our ICPs.
Partner with our Engineering, Marketing, and Design teams to enhance the on-page elements of our web pages in areas such as interlinking, meta content, schema mark-up, and UX enhancements.
Implement a technical strategy for our web platforms that ensures maximum SEO accessibility across web and mobile devices by working closely with our Web and Engineering teams.
Identify content opportunities that will provide value to visitors and OpenPhone in partnership with our Partnerships, Marketing, and Engineering teams in areas such as resources, tools, and partner content.
Use web analytics and other data sets to analyze user behavior and identify opportunities to optimize journeys of search visitors to meet the needs of their informational and buying journey.
Present key insights and learnings to our Marketing team, leadership, and the broader company to ensure we all learn and grow together.
About you:
Subject matter expertise - You have a proven track record of diving in deep and delivering insightful tactics and strategies across all major SEO pillars: content, on-page, technical, and off-page.
Team builder - You delight in building and growing a team by creating the conditions for them to successfully do work they’re proud of, and enabling them to continue to grow their skillsets and careers.
Player coach - You relish the chance to get your hands dirty and do the work, while ensuring that your team is operating effectively alongside you.
Impact focused - You understand that while the metric you most directly impact is traffic, it’s not the end-all, be-all for your role. You focus on driving a top-line revenue number above all else, and understand how all initiatives (revenue-generating or not) fit into that overall picture.
User empathy - You consistently think about users - who they are and at what stage of their journey they’re in. You use this knowledge to enhance the user’s experience, from the queries that they use (and what it means for their information journey) to the experience on the page itself.
Collaborative - You have a proven track record of working collaboratively with partners across Marketing and other departments. You excel in both leading and participating in cross-functional initiatives, ensuring their success and alignment with shared goals.
Data fluency - You regularly analyze data and integrate it into your own tasks as well as your team’s work. You excel at creating and delivering storytelling with data to executives and the broader team.
Curious and growth-oriented - You recognize that the landscape of Search is constantly evolving, both within traditional search engines, but also with how consumers seek out information amongst various platforms. You strive to stay up-to-date, and are constantly experimenting with new ways to grow traffic.
Compensation
The annual base salary range for this position is as follow, plus equity and benefits:
