Senior Accounting Manager

As a Senior Accounting Manager, reporting to the Controller, you will be exposed to senior-level decision-making while playing a key role as a member of a high-performing accounting team. You are a collaborative leader motivated to build and solve problems. You have established accounting knowledge, are well-versed in applying technical guidance to accounting issues, and are familiar with implementing new accounting standards. You are clear and concise in your communication, use data to drive results, and continuously look for ways to improve outcomes. You’ll work closely with the Sales, Revenue Operations, Customer Success, People Operations, and Engineering teams.

What you’ll do
You will own Accounting revenue operations, including collaboratively working across the organization to continually measure the existing order-to-cash and collection process to help identify inefficiencies, eliminate friction, and measure the results.
You are an expert in accounting ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 340 commissions accounting and will be responsible for maintaining Apollo’s accounting memos on these topics.
You’ll manage filing sales tax filings, including VAT, accurately and in a timely manner.
You will assist the Controller in driving operational excellence by spearheading transformative projects through the adoption of new systems, processes, and operational guidelines.
You will work closely with Deal Desk and Legal to maintain our standard order form and billing terms and review non-standard order form terms for revenue recognition, billing, and tax considerations.
You will be responsible for monthly and quarterly close activities and accurately reporting monthly and quarterly financials and performance dashboards.
You’ll collaborate with FP&A on cash collection forecasting, maintaining the chart of accounts, and financial reporting in accordance with reporting needs.
You will support our annual financial audits and act as the primary point of contact for external auditors on revenue-related matters and a rotation of other assigned areas.
Who you are
7+ years of progressive accounting experience in both public and high-growth start-up environments
You have a solid understanding of Software Accounting (SaaS) and international accounting
You’re a self-starter and thrive in a fast-paced dynamic environment
You’re passionate about building and eager to take on new challenges
You’re an experienced user of Netsuite
You are a strong communicator with excellent project management, organizational, attention to detail, and interpersonal skills
CPA with Big 4 experience required
$159,800 - $188,000 a year

Location: This is a remote position that can be done from anywhere in the US based in the Pacific time zone.
