Role Overview :
As a Senior Accountant and key member of Jimdo’s Finance team, you will be an expert on German GAAP and HGB accounting standards, and also help to address the growing international orientation of the company, especially in tax compliance, reporting, and process improvements. You’ll support revenue and accounts receivable accounting, while supporting audit readiness to ensure a 100% pass rate on statutory audits. You will play a pivotal role in streamlining our closing processes, enhancing the accuracy of our financial statements, and maintaining robust financial controls. This position offers you a unique opportunity to help shape Jimdo’s financial operations as we continue to contribute toward Jimdo’s success. You will report into the Accounting Manager.
What you’ll be doing:
Prepare, review, and submit financial statements that align with German GAAP (HGB) standards, and support in the preparation and execution of the annual audit process for group and stand alone entities.
Support tax compliance by preparing VAT, corporation tax, and wage tax filings.
Develop, document, and maintain internal controls
Drive innovation in our accounting processes through automation, system improvements, and best practices.
Oversee reconciliations for revenue recognition, accounts receivable, and fixed assets, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
Collaborate with the FP&A team to enhance reporting accuracy, enabling data-driven decision-making.
What you bring to the table:
5-8 years of professional accounting experience, with some in-house experience.
Strong understanding of German GAAP (HGB) and tax compliance, including VAT and corporation tax.
Proficiency in accounting systems and ERP platforms, plus excellent skills in Excel and other MS tools.
A proactive, detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to mentor junior team members and collaborate across departments.
Fluency in both English and German.
