Security Engineering Manager
This role will be remote first with limited travel through August 2025 with the expectation that employees will begin working 2 days per week in our dedicated office space in Philadelphia starting September 2025.
About the Role
We are seeking a Security Engineering Manager to play a crucial role in safeguarding our platform and ensuring the privacy and security of our users' data. Reporting to the Infrastructure Director of Engineering, you will lead and manage a team of security engineers while driving security-focused changes across the organization. You will develop and implement security strategies to enhance our security posture and ensure compliance with industry standards like CIS and SOC2.
The ideal candidate has experience building and leading high-performing security teams, implementing foundational security measures, and driving organization-wide security improvements. You are passionate about protecting data, influencing security culture, and delivering measurable results in alignment with best practices and compliance standards.
What You'll Work On:
Lead and develop a team of security engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, mentorship, and continuous learning.
Identify, implement, and integrate foundational security tools and technologies to enhance corporate, infrastructure and application security, in collaboration with internal teams.
Develop and maintain security strategies, policies, KPIs, OKRs, roadmaps and budget, working with internal teams to advocate for Security and align on planning.
Drive compliance with CIS, SOC2, and GDPR standards by leading security audits, assessments, and process improvements in partnership with internal teams.
Lead incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, and resolution, while maintaining and improving the incident response plan.
Promote a strong company-wide security culture through training, awareness programs, and alignment with cross-functional partners (Legal, Data, Engineering, IT, Operations).
Oversee the Information Security Program, influencing, collaborating, and developing recommendations with cross-functional partners for all matters related to information security, including policies and information security-related decisions.
Your Areas Of Expertise:
5+ years of experience building, managing, and mentoring security teams.
5+ years of proven expertise in developing and implementing security frameworks, policies, and company-wide procedures. Strong written skills are a must.
Data-oriented, with a strong background in designing security strategies, including metrics, KPIs, and performance measurement.
Track record of successfully leading security initiatives and driving cultural change to prioritize and mature the security program within the organization.
Deep knowledge of data security, encryption, access controls, and secure coding practices.
Experience leading incident response, crisis management, and threat modeling initiatives.
Familiarity with security frameworks (e.g., CIS, SOC2) and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR).

The base pay range for this position is $142,000-$197,000. This range is representative of base pay only, and does not include any other total cash compensation amounts, such as company bonus or benefits. Final offer amounts may vary from the amounts listed above, and will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, geography, and level.
