Safety Officer
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to oversee and implement safety protocols at our data center sites. This role ensures that all safety standards are maintained, risks are mitigated, and team members are well-equipped to maintain a safe work environment. The Safety Officer will be responsible for developing safety plans, conducting weekly safety seminars, and ensuring compliance with OSHA standards.
Objectives of the Role
Develop and enforce site-specific safety plans, ensuring the highest standards of safety across data center operations.
Conduct weekly safety seminars for onsite teams, teaching essential safety practices and procedures.
Design and deliver engaging curriculum and presentations tailored to site-specific needs.
Monitor and ensure compliance with OSHA standards and other applicable regulations.
Act as a safety liaison, identifying risks and providing proactive solutions to mitigate hazards.
Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, and incident reports.
Responsibilities
Conduct site inspections to identify potential hazards and enforce corrective measures.
Develop comprehensive safety plans tailored to the unique needs of each data center site.
Create and present weekly safety training seminars, including developing curriculum and materials.
Collaborate with onsite teams to foster a safety-first culture.
Ensure all team members understand and adhere to safety policies and protocols.
Stay updated on OSHA standards and other safety regulations, ensuring compliance.
Investigate incidents, document findings, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Maintain thorough documentation of all safety-related activities, including training logs, inspection reports, and safety audits.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Active OSHA 30 Certification (Is a Must).
Proven experience in safety management, preferably in data centers, construction, or industrial settings.
Strong knowledge of OSHA standards and other relevant safety regulations.
Conduct weekly safety seminars for onsite teams to enhance their understanding of safety practices. This includes designing the curriculum, developing engaging presentations, and delivering interactive training sessions during visits to each site.
Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage and educate teams.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to assess risks, implement solutions, and enforce safety protocols.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other tools for documentation and presentations.
Flexibility to travel to various sites and adapt to dynamic environments.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional safety certifications (e.g., CSP, CHST).
Experience with safety in data center environments or similar facilities.
Familiarity with emergency response planning and first aid/CPR certification.
Location: Remote
Travel: Up to 100% in United States
