Regional Marketing Manager for Spaceship

And now, we’re seeking our new teammate to evolve our marketing presence in the Chinese market! If you’re in, you will take a hands-on approach to growing Spaceship’s presence in China across paid channels, organic marketing, and social media.
🌍 Location: 100% remote
🏁 The Interview Process: 3 stages that include a 1-hour Recruiter conversation ➡ Home Assessment ➡ 1.5 hours Cultural/Technical conversation with the Hiring Managers
👩💻 Reporting to: Head of Website Platform & Digital Marketing
🚀 Your team: You’ll be part of the broader Product & Marketing team, working with internal global teams, i.e., marketing, UX, BI, and developers, and additional local freelancers or contractors if needed.
What will you do:
Own and execute a localized marketing strategy for the Chinese market in alignment with global brand direction.
Set up, manage, and optimize campaigns on platforms like Baidu, Tencent Ads, Zhihu, WeChat, and others relevant to digital services.
Lead organic growth efforts, including local SEO, content strategy, and social media presence.
Write and adapt ad copy and other marketing messages in Mandarin for local platforms, adjusting AI-generated translations where needed.
Set up local analytics tools and integrate them with our global Google Analytics setup
Analyze performance across channels using both local analytics tools and our global Google Analytics setup.
Prepare regular performance reports and insights to inform strategy, with support from our global BI team.
Identify growth opportunities and propose new campaigns, initiatives, or partnerships to expand reach and brand awareness.
What will you bring:
• 6+ years of experience in digital marketing, including hands-on campaign setup and analytics.
• Strong knowledge of the Chinese digital ecosystem and platforms, like Baidu, Tencent Ads, Zhihu, WeChat; knowledge in other platforms (Toutiao, Douyin, etc.) would be an asset.
• Analytics: Strong knowledge with both local tools (e.g, Baidu Tongji) and Google Analytics (GA4).
• Ability to write clear, persuasive marketing copy in Mandarin, and a strong command of English for global team collaboration.
• Experience marketing digital products or services (e.g, SaaS, hosting, domains, tools) for a non-Chinese company with global brand presence
• Self-starter mentality: able to identify opportunities and move fast, while aligning with brand and business priorities.
• Experience working in remote or cross-cultural teams.
• Nice to have: Familiarity with website localization tools or AI-assisted translation workflows.
• Nice to have: Basic knowledge of web development or UX best practices for local audiences
