Public Relations and Communications Manager

What You’ll Do
Develop and implement a media and communications strategy for Udacity
Partner with Accenture counterparts to ensure strategic alignment across the broader company ecosystem
Create and manage a PR plan, including budgets, timelines, etc.
Analyze all media coverage of the organization and draft appropriate responses, when necessary
Work with the content marketing team to create a content calendar
Develop strategy for and organize promotional events such as press tours and conferences
Work closely with the leadership team on media engagements
Develop relationships and working with media outlets and other companies
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to identify the public voice of the brand (and ensure alignment with Accenture)
Create style guides and brand voice outlines for all public relations, marketing, advertising and other departments
Consult with executive management to develop effective communication procedures and policies for various situations
Draft press releases and speeches following organizational news
Communicate with media outlets and journalists and create press kits
Develop materials to educate staff on communication practices
Coach and assist team members on improving communication skill
Perform communications research and monitor the progress of various communications strategies
Qualifications
Teamwork and the ability to influence senior stakeholders and external parties
Exceptional communication abilities, including writing, speaking and active listening
Ability to effectively engage with team members of all levels and across departments
Analytical skills to solve problems and find the best way to convey a message
The creativity to produce exciting and interesting content
Organizational skills and the ability to multitask and prioritize projects while working on a deadline or in a fast-paced environment
The technological ability to work on a variety of digital platforms and also create web and mobile content
In-depth knowledge of best writing and messaging practices for business correspondence, public relations, advertising, marketing and sales copy and social media
Great project management skills, including time management, goal-setting, multitasking and prioritization
7+ years of experience in public relations or media relations
Demonstrated success at turning pitches into stories across Tier 1 media outlets (e.g., Tech Crunch, NY Times, Wall Street Journal, the Verge, etc.)
Has a personal media list and existing relationships with reporters
Location: While this is a remote role, applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States of America on a full-time basis Compensation: The maximum base pay for this position is $150,000, depending on experience and location, and is eligible for an annual 15% corporate bonus.
