Product Manager
About the Role:
As a Product Manager on the Platform Product Team, you will lead the end-to-end product provisioning process, ensuring customers receive seamless and timely access to the Planet products they purchase. This role focuses on building and managing scalable systems and workflows that connect our sales processes with product access mechanisms. You will work closely with Engineering to build and optimize tools while partnering with Sales, Customer Success, Revenue Operations, Accounting, Pricing Strategy, and Business Systems to define, automate, and align processes for product entitlements and access delivery.
In this role, you will take a hands-on approach to solving challenges, leveraging data analytics to identify opportunities for improvement, measure success, and drive continuous optimization. You will work cross-functionally with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to deliver solutions that streamline internal operations and enhance the customer experience. Developing a strong understanding of authentication and authorization systems will be key to ensuring secure and reliable product access. Ultimately, you will play a critical role in improving internal efficiency, enabling scale, and ensuring customers quickly access the full value of Planet’s products.
This is a full-time, remote position based in the United States.
Impact You'll Own:
Drive the execution of the product provisioning process, ensuring customers receive timely and seamless access to purchased products.
Enable the business to launch new products faster and bring them to market more seamlessly by designing and implementing scalable provisioning systems and workflows.
Build and manage the infrastructure needed to align pricing models, product configurations, and offerings with internal systems and processes, ensuring operational readiness for new product launches.
Ensure the provisioning process directly supports enterprise SaaS deal flows, improving the overall customer experience from purchase to product access.
Deliver scalable provisioning systems and tools that ensure reliable access, empower customers to track usage, and drive upsell opportunities by enabling additional purchases when limits are reached. Improve efficiency for internal teams while enhancing the customer buying and renewal experience.
Identify and remove bottlenecks in provisioning workflows by analyzing data, streamlining processes, and delivering measurable improvements.
What You Bring:
4+ years of product management experience, particularly in a SaaS or enterprise-focused environment.
Experience collaborating with Product, Engineering, and Design teams to build systems and workflows that support scalable provisioning and platform access.
An aptitude for working with commercial teams (e.g., Sales and Revenue Operations) and operations teams (e.g., Accounting and Business Systems) to align on business objectives, streamline processes, and ensure operational readiness.
Ability to facilitate interactions between Operations and Engineering teams, ensuring technical solutions address operational needs and enable scale.
Familiarity with enterprise SaaS deal flows, including pricing models, product configurations, and provisioning workflows.
Great problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex workflows and identify opportunities for improvement.
Excellent communication skills, enabling you to align cross-functional teams, manage stakeholders, and deliver solutions that drive business impact.
A detail-oriented and hands-on approach to managing competing priorities and ensuring timely delivery of outcomes.
What Makes You Stand Out:
Experience working with tools like Salesforce and understanding how to structure systems to support scalable provisioning and entitlement processes.
Familiarity with authentication and authorization system concepts.
Familiarity with GIS systems or satellite imagery products.
