This position will drive the ongoing expansion of our EMEA communications function and amplify the Twilio story to a wide range of audiences from developers to the largest enterprises.
The person in this role will join a growing global communications function, building thought leadership for Twilio, highlighting the astounding innovation being carried out by Twilio’s customers, and engaging audiences with compelling and relevant storylines. Reporting to the International communications director, this position will play a pivotal role in supporting Twilio’s EMEA go to market strategy, and making Twilio as relevant in EMEA as it is in San Francisco.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
Develop and execute the local communications strategy and plan for the United Kingdom, Germany, France and Spain
Manage Twilio’s PR agency partners to deliver a relevant, impactful and appropriate localised PR programme that supports Twilio’s business objectives and go to market plan
Create campaigns and content to drive press, analyst and social media programmes
Identify, train and support local and regional spokespeople in delivering Twilio’s messaging
Work alongside other members of Twilio’s regional and global PR and the wider Corporate Communications teams to ensure target metrics are monitored and met
Help support internal communications activities in EMEA for top priority corporate programmes and special projects
Partner with marketing teams in EMEA to create and execute integrated campaign and activity plans
Qualifications
Not all applicants will have skills that match a job description exactly. Twilio values diverse experiences in other industries, and we encourage everyone who meets the required qualifications to apply. While having “desired” qualifications make for a strong candidate, we encourage applicants with alternative experiences to also apply. If your career is just starting or hasn't followed a traditional path, don't let that stop you from considering Twilio. We are always looking for people who will bring something new to the table!
Required:
8-10 years of B2B communication experience, including working in an international communications environment; time spent in-house would be preferred
Significant experience across public relations with a solid understanding of analyst relations, internal communications, crisis communications and social media
Has strong media relationships with technology and business media across EMEA
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ability to think on your feet, and to digest information quickly to determine the appropriate way forward, breaking through technical jargon to deliver relevant, appropriate and impactful messaging
Experience in building surveys, reports, press releases, blogs, messaging documents, social media posts, media commentary/articles, customer stories and other communications campaign content
The ability to develop relationships with executives and building programs that roll up to top level business strategy
Experience with communications measurement tools and a passion for demonstrating the impact of communications programmes
Is a collaborative team player and thrives in a dynamic environment, but also can work autonomously to bring projects to completion
Desired:
Has experience at a PR agency as well as at an in-house communications team
Additional European languages, both spoken and written, would be advantageous
Ability to influence and build effective working relationships with all levels of the organisation
Familiarity with localisation tactics to ensure our content is accessible and inclusive across multiple EMEA countries.
Location
This role will be remote, and based in the United Kingdom.
Travel
We prioritize connection and opportunities to build relationships with our customers and each other. For this role, you may be required to travel occasionally to participate in project or team in-person meetings.
What We Offer
