Policy Manager - Business Expansion
The Community You Will Join:
Airbnb’s Global Public Policy team exists to further the interests of our community of hosts and guests with elected officials, regulators, opinion leaders and others who shape the political and legal context for our business, helping them to understand the significant social and economic contributions of our platform. Airbnb has long been an industry-leader in developing, promoting, and deploying innovative strategies that enable governments to implement fair, progressive home sharing rules. Worldwide, our team is engaged in conversations and negotiations with governments big and small, at local, state, provincial and national levels.
We are looking for a Policy Manager to coordinate policy guidance on new business initiatives as Airbnb expands beyond its core offering as a place to stay. This role will sit within the Policy Central team, a global team which supports regional policy colleagues and gives policy guidance to stakeholders across the company.
The Difference You Will Make:

The ideal candidate will be passionate about Airbnb’s mission, and have experience working in fast-moving environments in the non-profit, government, or private sectors. Your strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders will be crucial to your success in this role.
A Typical Day:
Provide policy advice on the global expansion of the Guest Services and Experiences businesses, supporting alignment with public policy objectives and Airbnb’s long-term goals.
Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including product marketing, finance, marketing, sales operations, and supply.
Identify, track, and get quickly up to speed on new regulatory areas and understand their impact on the business.
Prioritize risks and opportunities based on inputs from a variety of internal stakeholders.
Design a scalable, efficient system for providing policy analysis to the business as it explores new growth strategies.
Work hand in hand with Regional Policy Teams to explain new business initiatives, solicit their feedback, and translate it for cross functional partners.
Your Expertise:
8+ years of experience in public policy, government relations, and/or state and/or federal government.
Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work collaboratively across a wide range of stakeholders, both with subject matter experts and the layperson.
Ability to navigate complex internal organizations, and confidently negotiate issues and roadblocks.
Experience communicating directly with product and business growth teams and/or senior company leadership preferred.
Experience in a large global organization and/or working on regulatory issues relevant to travel and tourism preferred.
An orientation of being proactive and developing solutions in the face of complex, multi-faceted problems.
Acute attention to detail and highly organized.
