Our team is highly technical and thrives on being able to dive into the details, build from scratch and create structure through chaos. We’re ambitious too. Grafana Labs scaled rapidly and we’re evolving our team, our processes and the support that we offer to the business at a fast pace.
We’re looking for an exceptional People Operations Partner to support our international team. You will need to thrive in a start-up environment, be able to manage through ambiguity, change and complexity, while supporting the impact to a global organisation. This role requires someone who is able to become a subject matter expert with excellent technical attention to detail, strong organizational and project management skills and a “move fast to make it real” mindset. You will have the strong drive to act swiftly and thoughtfully, balancing urgency with strategic insight to deliver impactful solutions.
The People Partnering team is responsible for introducing best practices, solutions for stakeholders across the organisation which includes providing advice and guidance to other People functions and key stakeholders across the company. In this role, you will bring strong organisational, project management, and compliance expertise to help us scale effectively. Depending on business needs, you will have the opportunity to work on a diverse range of initiatives, including immigration, mergers and acquisitions, process optimisation, training delivery on new projects, entity establishment, and compliance management. We’re looking for someone eager to roll up their sleeves, collaborate, and drive thoughtful, impactful solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure global immigration adherence, including managing sponsorship renewals and applications
Stay informed on global employment law requirements, ensuring our policies and procedures remain compliant with legal standards. Lead initiatives to keep us aligned with evolving global regulations, partnering with the Workday (HRIS) team to implement updates effectively. Additionally, provide relevant training to the Business Partners to ensure consistent understanding and application.
Develop and maintain templates, documentation, policies, and contracts to ensure legal and regulatory compliance
Collaborate with Legal, Corporate Development, and Finance teams to support entity establishment and M&A projects
Strengthen audit infrastructure by driving compliance in partnership with IT, Security, Legal, and People teams
Develop a deep understanding of our annual leave policies and ensure they are effectively maintained, managed, and adhered to
Manage the implementation of processes to drive process consistency and efficiency across the global team
Design and drive project plans and ensure key milestones are identified and communicated to key stakeholders
Utilise the wider People team as required to deliver against the agreed project priorities
You will be the subject matter expert providing training and technical HR support and expertise across key projects to ensure consistency of application post-delivery
If applicable to the project, you will take a lead role in tool selection, implementation and process automation
Produce People team and business guides and documentation covering key processes, policies and projects.

Strong Generalist experience: you’ll have a solid background as a true Generalist, adept at partnering with all levels of the business from employees to senior leaders. You’ll enjoy wearing many hats and are able to be both a strategic partner as well as tactical and hands on.
Business Partner / HR Advisor experience: desirable but not essential
Immigration expertise: You’ll bring hands-on experience in supporting immigration processes, global sponsorship management, and compliance
Stakeholder management: You’ll have strong interpersonal skills and an eagerness to learn how to navigate difficult conversations with professionalism and empathy. You possess influencing and negotiation skills to advocate for both employees and Grafana Labs, ensuring mutual success
Autonomous and collaborative: You appreciate working independently and collaboratively, often working through competing priorities and be able to use your initiative and creative problem solving skills to confidently manage decision-making independently
Organisation & project management: You will be highly organised, with incredibly strong project management skills. You will need to be detail oriented, love multi-tasking and have excellent follow through skills. You will be process oriented and enjoy creating process and structure where there may be ambiguity and be skilled at finding creative solutions to non-obvious problems
Remote communication: we’re a fully remote company therefore you’ll need to excel at building strong working relationships virtually (with the opportunity to be in person from time to time) with exceptional communication skills (in person, online & written)
Experience in a start up environment: Ideally you’ll have done something similar before, you have a desire to work in a founder led environment with constant change as your company on.
In the UK, the compensation range for this role is £61,000 - £76,000. Actual compensation may vary based on level, experience, and skillset as assessed in the interview process. Benefits include equity, bonus (if applicable) and other benefits listed here.
