MORTGAGE LOAN CLOSER
SUMMARY:
The Mortgage Loan Closer prepares closing documents for credit secured by real property. The Mortgage Loan Closer also prepares the settlement statement for members and sends to each member in a timely manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Reviews documents in all mortgage files for accuracy and addresses issues to avoid difficulties at time of mortgage closing.
- Completes all required Real Estate closing documents in accordance with regulations after processing is complete.
- Obtains any missing or inaccurate documentation from the borrower , closing agent processor or loan officer.
- Verifies all mortgage information is correct and enters information and fees into loan processing system site.
- Analyzes appraisals and debt to income ratio, and understands qualities that effect credit worthiness.
- Sends preliminary mortgage documents to title company; ensures that documents are accurate and compliant with RESPA.
- Coordinates and communicates with all pertinent parties at each step of the transaction, including but not limited to the status of the preparation of documents and HUD approval.
- Sends final mortgage documents to members and Mortgage Originator, as needed.
- Verifies correct fees for wires and prepares internal DECU wire requests as well as sends third party, CUSO, wire requests.
- Serves members by answering all inquiries regarding closing issues, scheduling and post-closing inquiries.
- Refers credit union products and services based on member needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Knowledge Of:
- Credit Union's products and services
- Credit Union policies and procedures pertaining to loan servicing
- Real Estate underwriting criteria
Ability To:
- Utilize the credit union's data processing capability in loading new loan information in the system
- Operate the kinds of office equipment normally found in a lending operation, such as: typewriter, adding machine, telephone, fax machine, photocopier, and personal computer.
- Operate a PC using the following software applications Windows, Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Accurately process a steady workload under strict time constraints
- Process Consumer Loans
- Process Real Estate Loans
- Understand and interpret information required to remain in compliance with secondary market underwriting criteria.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School diploma or General Education Degree, compliance training, consumer credit and lending experience plus three years of related experience and/or training.
License or Certificate:
- Bondable
- Acceptable Credit History
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS:
