Market Director
Job Summary:
The Market Director, Japan and Korea (Ecommerce) is a key business leader who will be responsible for leading the strategic direction for iHerb Japan and Korea's business and integrated marketing. iHerb is looking for a growth focused leader to drive market success in Japan and Korea, owning end-to-end growth strategy.
Job Expectations:
Drive executive leadership to deliver Japan and Korea's growth by leading the development of new business opportunities and partnerships in the region, including marketplaces, payment partners, influencers, B2B and offline sales opportunities.
Lead marketplace growth on Rakuten and new platform expansion
Develop integrated marketing communication strategy that will help to increase brand awareness, support new customer acquisition and customer retention.
Continuously drive growth by applying a clear understanding of the iHerb Japan’s brand, consumer and industry trends, to marketing, merchandising, content, and business strategies.
Own Japan Market budget, manage efficient use of resources and budget to prioritize the most impactful opportunities for growth and profitability in the market.
Work collaboratively with cross functional teams – brand teams, marketing operations, merchandising, finance, global logistics and operations teams to ensure growth goals are met.
Maintains awareness of competitive activity, regulatory/compliance changes and regularly communicate with HQ team on changes and plans
Manage team members based in Japan and Korea
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Required:
Role is based in Japan (Hybrid role based in Tokyo)
Japanese speaking ability and strong English communication skills
15+ years of ecommerce and marketing experience
Demonstrated experience and knowledge of ecommerce growth strategies in the direct to consumer retail space in Japan and Korea
Experience managing a team, in-person and/or remotely.
Experience collaborating effectively across all levels of an organization, from C-level to individual contributor level.
Familiarity with VMS (supplement category) compliance, cross-border retail and global logistics a plus.
