Managing Editor - Organic Growth
About the Role:
As the Managing Editor, Organic Growth, you will be leading our Organic Growth Team, to grow the portfolio's output, quality, traffic, clicks, revenue and subscribers by producing helpful, authoritative content that builds topical authority for valuable JTBD (Jobs To Be Done) and their related software.

You are a strategic thinker with a proven track record in content management and organic growth strategies. You're adept at translating strategic vision to executional capability. You know exactly how to keep the team focused on the right work, and doing the work right. You're as confident developing and evolving content strategy as you are staying on top of production outputs and outcomes to keep content flowing at an ever increasing quality and performance.
You possess a deep understanding of SEO and content performance, allowing you to make informed decisions that drive traffic and engagement. You empower others to produce high-quality, engaging content at scale that resonates with our audience. Data-driven decision-making is second nature to you, and you’re adept at analyzing market dynamics, identifying differentiation opportunities, and adapting to evolving industry landscapes.
With significant experience building, managing and leading remote content teams, you’re a seasoned content leader with a passion for creating engaging, industry-defining media. Your leadership inspires and rallies teams, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment. You have a strong focus on efficiency and innovation, championing the use of AI and automation to optimize workflows and maximize output.
What you'll be doing (responsibilities):
Deliver High-Performing Organic Content - Ensure the team executes the best work for maximum impact, in content planning, production sequencing, and the content itself to ensure production is optimized for organic growth, revenue, and topical authority for the target audiences.
Maintain & Maximize Content Performance - Ensure the work is executed right - faithfully following process, SOPs and playbooks and consistently ranking top for target keywords, driving traffic, clicks, and subscriptions.
Lead & Coach A High-Performing Team - Help the team set ambitious, achievable goals for their publication's traffic growth, quality, and execution and guide them towards achieving those goals.
How your success will be measured:
Team Output: # of new content and upgrades by site
Organic Traffic: % MoM by site
Ad Revenue: PPC/PPL/Display $ from monetized organic content by site
Your skillset includes:
7+ years experience leading and mentoring large (30+ individuals) content teams
Experience managing large (100+ individuals) teams of writers
Experience building content strategy, scaling production and traffic
Experience with on-page SEO and SEO content
Experience with WordPress
Experience with SEO optimization tools e.g. Ahrefs and Clearscope
Experience creating content using AI tools including Claude
Exceptional writing skills, command over voice and tone, with the ability to adapt
The ability to breathe life and inject humour into traditionally dry topics
Strong project management skills, including resource allocation and deadline management
Knowledge of AI and automation tools for content creation and optimization
Exceptional communication skills
Self-motivated and self-starter
Solid understanding of content KPIs
Nice to haves:
B2B SaaS content marketing experience
MA/BA or equivalent experience in Media journalism.
Experience in working with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs)
Familiarity with UX, design, and tech collaboration in content presentation
$150,000 - $200,000 a year
This full time position is available as a either a 100% remote or hybrid position if you're able /would like to commute into our Vancouver office. The role offers an annual salary in the range of $150,000 to $200,000 CAD. The range is a guide for the expected skills, knowledge and experience for new hires based in Canada only. Seniority level and salary ranges are determined through interviews and a review of education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities of the applicant, equity with other team members, and alignment with market data. This means ranges will vary for candidates based outside of Canada and/or at different seniority levels. In addition to annual salary, full time employees are eligible for a discretionary bonus and a comprehensive benefits package.
