Our Tax team partners with business and Executive leadership to develop, monitor and scale our global tax strategy. We are working through significant changes in the world of global tax and this role will have a direct impact to shape how we continue to scale as a business and support that growth as a Tax team.
THE TEAM
The Tax team works cross-functionally with Executive leaders and frontline managers across Eventbrite to provide support for global business initiatives. As an action-oriented and practical team, we give structure to complicated issues by thinking creatively to find solutions while always ensuring compliance and mitigating risk across different jurisdictions worldwide. THE ROLE
We are looking for an energetic and highly motivated Tax Manager to lead our Compliance and Reporting efforts.
Manage Eventbrite’s global tax accounting and reporting process including the preparation and review of the consolidated and foreign income tax provision
Prepare of ASC 718 stock-based compensation calculations
Review of transfer pricing calculations and documentation
Identify, analyze, and document uncertain tax positions
Prepare and review tax-related financial statement disclosures, executive reporting, and SOX internal controls documentation
Lead and manage Eventbrite’s Global direct and indirect tax return filings, working closely with external tax vendors to ensure corporate tax return compliance and payment deadlines are met.
Manage audits and inquiries of tax authorities.
Collaborate with Accounting and FP&A groups to manage financial statement forecasts and monthly close processes.
Work alongside Eventbrite’s Finance, Legal, Operations, and wider company teams in addition to external tax vendors to support mergers and acquisitions, business initiatives, and special projects as assigned
Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments and communicate the effects of these developments to management
Review and assist with preparing the interim and annual tax provision under US GAAP and IFRS/local GAAP for non-US entities.
Build, maintain, improve and automate tax-related processes
THE SKILLSET
Minimum of 6 years of experience in ASC 740 tax accounting and reporting
Mix of in-house experience and public accounting experience with the Big Four firms required
Experienced in managing outside tax vendors on various projects
Self-starter and problem solver with the ability to work well independently and in a team environment
Ability to cultivate effective relationships and work cross-functionally with strong planning, process management, and organizational skills
Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex ideas
Possess a personal drive and desire to go above and beyond to solve business problems and implement process improvements
BONUS POINTS FOR
MS in Taxation or CPA licensure
Experience with Workday Financial Management
Sense of humor and positive attitude

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Eventbrite, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
