The EU is a top market for Kraken and you will be working on shaping the future digital assets policy and regulatory framework in exciting times, as the EU enters a new mandate.
The ideal candidate for this role will need to be based in Brussels, Belgium
What You'll Do
Become a key player in our truly global policy team based across Brussels, London, and Washington DC.
Lead the development of Kraken’s policy positions and in doing so contribute to the comprehensive company-wide strategy.
Engage directly with key EU policymakers and influence the policy outcomes. Gain external visibility working with trade associations and other external players.
Partner closely with colleagues in the regulatory, compliance, communications, product, and engineering teams.
Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned
Skills you should HODL
7+ years of hands-on experience with EU financial services policy and regulation from either the EU-level institutions (European Commission, European Parliament, Council, ESAs) or EU-27 national administrations, similar in-house roles, political consultancies, or from relevant trade associations
Existing network in Brussels or EU-27 Member States
Understanding of or an interest in digital assets policy, including MiCA Regulation
Team-oriented mindset, proactive and entrepreneurial approach, the ability to embrace a steep learning curve, and to face headwinds
Passion for the crypto industry and an interest in Kraken’s offerings and its global impact
Nice to haves
Knowledge of either the payments, AML, cyber or other digital policies and frameworks.
Experience with drafting responses to public consultations
Interest in international politics and the ability to explain it to a diversified audience
Prior exposure to the work of international standard setters (IOSCO, OECD, FATF) and an understanding how their work relates to the national and regional policies
