Manager II, Strategic Sourcing - Marketing & Sales
Pinterest is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager II, Strategic Sourcing - Marketing & Sales to excel in our dynamic, fast-paced environment. This role demands a strategic thinker who can partner effectively with the business, proactively identify sourcing opportunities, deliver insightful supplier analytics, and drive optimal purchasing outcomes. The successful candidate will be expected to lead strategic sourcing efforts for both Marketing and Sales categories, including the development and execution of category strategies, management of key supplier relationships, significant-spend deals and alignment with internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives. Expertise is essential in negotiating large-scale outsourcing solutions for both marketing and sales operations, complex media buys (including performance-based), and managing diverse agency relationships (creative, research, PR). Success in this role requires effectively managing complex supplier purchases, adapting to rapidly changing business needs, and consistently delivering substantial value through strategic partnerships.
Key Objectives:
Strategic Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with the Marketing/Sales team and key stakeholders. Serve as a trusted advisor, proactively educating teams on strategic sourcing's role and strategies to optimize the bottom line.
Sourcing Process Transformation: Transform the Marketing/Sales sourcing process into a streamlined, scalable solution that supports long-term growth and business objectives.
Supplier Management & Strategy: Manage a comprehensive portfolio of suppliers. Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies, conduct negotiations, and oversee supplier relationships and performance to ensure alignment with business needs.
Contract & Negotiation Excellence: Lead and facilitate supplier selection, RFPs, and contract negotiations to secure agreements featuring competitive long-term pricing, measurable service level agreements, and robust remedies for non-performance.
Process Improvement & Innovation: Drive the evolution of the Strategic Sourcing function by initiating and leading projects that enhance efficiency, structure, and overall effectiveness.
Cost Optimization & Analysis: Identify and capitalize on cost-saving opportunities through in-depth analysis of current spend, external category/commodity analysis, and industry benchmarking.
What you’ll do:
Leadership and Direction: Lead a team of sourcing professionals by setting expectations and motivating the team to achieve business objectives with excellence.
Stakeholder & Supplier Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor and fostering open communication and mutual respect.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with various functional groups to understand strategic priorities, identify opportunities for scaling, and ensure compliance with regulations and company policies.
Performance Monitoring & Measurement: Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track and analyze spending, as well as monitor and evaluate supplier performance.
Supplier Identification & Selection: Evaluate and select suppliers based on service, quality, value, and alignment with program needs and budget.
Contract Negotiation & Management: Secure optimal value for products and services, including but not limited to airlines, hotels, food & beverage, and event management, through effective negotiation and contract management.
Business Reviews & Performance Management: Conduct regular business reviews with suppliers to ensure ongoing performance, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
Performance Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular reports on procurement activities/progress to leadership, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
Industry Trend Monitoring: Stay abreast of market conditions and industry trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and innovative products/services.
Strategic Sourcing Communication & Guidance: Effectively communicate sourcing values, responsibilities, and best practices to stakeholders, providing clear direction on optimal sourcing strategies.
Process Optimization & Benchmarking: Continuously leverage past experience and ongoing benchmarking to identify and implement process improvements and efficiencies.
What we’re looking for:
Minimum of 8 years within Marketing/Sales Sourcing and Procurement related activities, with BPO experience.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Supply Chain Management, a related field or equivalent experience.
Advanced skills in quantitative applications such as Business Intelligence, Data Warehouse solutions, Microsoft Excel, etc. are preferred.
Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret information from various sources.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
In-Office Requirement Statement:

This role will need to be in the office for in-person collaboration 1-2 times/half and therefore can be situated anywhere in the country.
