Job Overview:
The Localization team supports Coursera’s mission by making Coursera accessible to people whose native language isn’t English. We partner with multiple internal and external stakeholders to make our platform and content available in multiple languages, and to continue to improve the Coursera experience for learners all over the world.
As a Localization Specialist, you will be part of the Services Org and play a key role in executing Coursera’s localization strategy and initiatives. You will directly support the translation production of our partners and customers. You will also assist in troubleshooting translation issues and coordinating L10N requests from other teams in the company. In addition to working with vendors and other stakeholders to deliver translation projects, you will contribute to L10N SME advisory and collaborate with your team and cross functional teams on process improvement to make our content more accessible to non-English learners.
Responsibilities:
Take ownership of internal and external translation projects from start to finish, maintain effective communication with vendors and clients and deliver in a timely manner
Scope incoming L10N requests and provide delivery plan with timelines and cost
Serve as co-owner of Vendor, Knowledge and Resource Management within the Localization team
Develop and execute process and quality improvement initiatives
Troubleshoot translation-related issues
Serve as L10N SME in cross-functional collaborations, help position L10N as a professional service within the company
Basic Qualifications:
1+ years of L10N experience, including hands-on work with CAT tools, TMS solutions and MT/AI technology
Demonstrated history of managing L10N projects that vary in content type, scope, priority
Demonstrated knowledge of L10N resource management, quality frameworks and current best practices
Verbal and written fluency in English and at least 1 other language
Experience in producing data to inform business decisions
Preferred Qualifications:
L10N experience on vendor and client side
Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, Salesforce, analytics tools and coding languages
Knowledge of AI-driven solutions and experience in applying them to L10N pipelines
Prior experience with local content creation, SEO and L10N in e-learning context
Understanding of internationalization standards
Language fluency in any of the following languages: Spanish / French / Portuguese / German / Arabic

Compensation:
Coursera offers competitive pay and equitable compensation practices. Our job titles may span more than one career level. The targeted hiring base salary range for this role is between 60,000 to 75,000 CAD for all Canada candidates. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, including but not limited to prior work experiences, training/education, transferable skills, business needs, and geographical location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for variable pay, equity, and benefits.
