About the Role:
Hims & Hers is seeking a self-motivated and adaptable Legislative Counsel to join our growing, collaborative Legal team. The successful candidate will be a team player, entrepreneurial, and comfortable working in a fast-paced remote work environment. The Legislative Counsel, though a member of the Legal team, will primarily support the Public Policy team on the company’s multi-state and federal legislative and regulatory strategy on a variety of subject matter areas impacting direct-to-consumer telehealth, mail order, and compounding pharmacy ecosystem.
You Will:
Conceptualize, draft, review, and advise on legislative and regulatory proposals covering multiple subject matter areas impacting the direct-to-consumer telehealth ecosystem, mail-order pharmacies, and pharmacy compounding at the state and federal levels.
Research, monitor, and analyze policy developments, legislation, and regulations to assess and identify potential impacts on the organization’s goals and objectives.
Develop a deep understanding of common policy issues impacting the business, including but not limited to care delivery through telehealth, corporate practice of medicine, pharmacy operations, pharmacy compounding, and consumer health data privacy.
Review Public Policy collateral and talking points for myriad policy campaigns.
Work proactively with Public Policy team members on policy priority areas.
Interact with external consultants, trade organizations, and other stakeholders regarding the impacts of various policy matters and initiatives.
Work and coordinate with outside counsel as needed.
You Have:
J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and current active license to practice law in at least one US jurisdiction.
5+ years practicing at a law firm, government, or in-house.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience analyzing, drafting, amending, and reviewing state and federal legislation and regulation.
An interest in and ability to get up to speed quickly on complex policy issues impacting the company.
Strong ability to think quickly and simultaneously manage a complex workload and shifting priorities.
Resourceful, skilled self-starter with a team-oriented mindset and positive attitude.
Demonstrated organizational and time management skills.
Previous experience working on or familiarity with health care or pharmacy policy matters is a plus.
