About The Role:
As the Lead Project Manager -Transit, you will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of projects focused on transitioning transit fleets to zero-emission technologies. This role requires an individual with the ability to manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects within scope, on schedule, and within budget. You will work closely with transit agencies, industry stakeholders, and cross-functional teams within CALSTART to coordinate resources and drive successful project outcomes. Key responsibilities include managing project plans, tracking progress, identifying and mitigating risks, and ensuring deliverables meet high standards of quality and sustainability. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills are essential to manage multiple projects that further our mission of advancing zero-emission transit solutions across the U.S.
Responsibilities:
Develop and manage comprehensive project plans that include timelines, milestones, budgets, and resource allocations for zero-emission transit projects.
Lead and coordinate project teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and clear communication across functional areas.
Monitor project progress, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track and aligned with sustainability goals.
Communicate regularly with stakeholders—including transit agencies, OEMs, and regulatory entities—to provide updates on project status, milestones, and any issues.
Ensure project deliverables meet quality standards, regulatory requirements, and are completed on time and within budget.
Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, applying lessons learned to enhance efficiency and effectiveness in future projects.
Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience in project management, with a record of delivering projects on time and within budget, preferably in transit, energy, or environmental sectors.
Strong organizational skills, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and priorities concurrently.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead teams and build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders as well as present on solutions and advancements around zero-emission transportation.
A sound working knowledge of software such as Microsoft Office and project management solutions such as Monday.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues, assess risk, and develop innovative solutions.
Familiarity with zero-emission technologies and transit agency operations is highly desirable.
Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Environmental Science, Engineering, Urban Planning, or a related field.
Minimum of 5-7 years experience managing zero-emission projects, preferably within transit, energy, or environmental sectors.
$85,000 - $103,000 a year
