Lead Networking and IAM Engineer
The Lead Networking and Identity Access Management (IAM) Engineer is responsible for working with both internal and external customers to ensure the functional usage of the Workiva platform from a networking and authentication perspective. The role will support newly onboarded Workiva customers to ensure the networking and authentication requirements are met during implementation, and existing customers experiencing networking and authentication issues. This Lead Networking and IAM Engineer will work closely with a variety of teams across Workiva, as well as customer stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
Consult new customers on Networking and IAM best practices during Workiva implementation
Lead complex technical escalations from several channels in the area of Networking and IAM
Own Networking and IAM Projects and implementation tracks, from ideation to production
Serve as a technical conduit between Workiva SME groups and Support Leadership in issue solution and request progression
Work to limit and mitigate symptoms of performance and latency through both proactive and reactive troubleshooting and solution delivery efforts
Provide data-driven targeted delivery of training & enablement to the Global Support teams where required
Perform daily reviews of KPIs, supporting metrics, and scheduled reports to address customer needs proactively
Create and maintain technical process documentation in accordance with Workiva and industry best practices
Train, onboard, and develop support new hires in the areas of Networking and IAM
What You’ll Need
Minimum Qualifications:
Typically requires 6+ years of related career experience in Networking and IAM support within a technology organization
Typically required an undergraduate degree or equivalent professional experience in a related role
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong acumen with SAML & SCIM protocols
Success in integrating SSO and automating user provisioning in the Workiva platform with IdPs such as AWS, Azure (Entra ID), GCP, Sailpoint, Ping Identity etc.
In-depth experience with networking devices such as firewalls, switches, and fabric interconnects.
In-depth understanding of communication protocols (mainly TCP/IP) and routing protocols, network diagnostic tools, and access control models
In-depth experience with defining secure and hardened information technology solutions, including IAM services
Prior knowledge and understanding of common information security management frameworks
Deep-rooted understanding of networking operating systems
Hands-on experience with modern and enterprise authentication patterns and platforms; Okta preferred
Ability to interpret high level design documentation when troubleshooting latency to be able to isolate issues according to network blueprints aligned with business requirements
Experience and knowledge in diverse cloud security solutions.
Project management framework knowledge and experience leading small to medium sized projects from idea to implementation.
Experience mentoring and leading a small team of mid-senior level engineers.
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions
Reliable internet access for any period of time working remotely, not in a company office
Occasional requirement for travel for customer and internal meetings
How You’ll Be Rewarded
✅ Salary range in the US: $87,000.00 - $148,000.00
✅ A discretionary bonus typically paid annually
✅ Restricted Stock Units granted at time of hire
✅ 401(k) match and comprehensive employee benefits package
